something so beautiful and puzzling about the quickness in which ants die, when there’s just a bunch all swarming to a tiny bit of mountain dew that’s spilled on the counter, completely indulging in their desire. ants can’t really do much except mate and eat. human activities for ‘fun’ are just our creation… so, when ants give into their desires and slurp mountain dew and piss off humans, are they sinning, or what? do they even know they’re making people mad? or do they just think it’s a gift from above? do ants even think at all? does any thinking that humans do or anything that results from it really matter? why is so much restraint drilled into some of us at a young age if we’re more capable than any other species to do what we want and sustain ourselves?
i’ve been thinking about the amount of things that humans have overcome in terms of things that should’ve killed us off, but haven’t…think of how many lives were saved by vaccinations, how many suicides almost happened but didn’t. the fact that we’re STILL growing massively as a population, is, well, really not good. you’d think the top priority right now, from all areas of the world, would be our preservation and advancement as a species, but everyone seems to be concerned with not getting blown up, and nothing else. i mean, if people in charge have time to goof off and go on vacations, and they can overspend their budget for security purposes, can’t they also “waste” time and/or overspend on things that are useful and might contribute to our betterment as a species and contribute to a lowered debt in the long run?- but no.
grrrrr. also, been really obsessing over some hybrid skill-crane-gods-in-charge theory, where there’s just forces, spirits, what have you controlling everything that happens to humans right now. i think it’s funny to consider some sort of spiritual congressional debate in the sky among the gods and/or the dead involving whether or not to give california a big enough earthquake to sink it into the water, cause of the amount of despicable people in LA. the spiritual can’t reach a compromise, so they just keep giving them mini-earthquakes, but no one is really happy about it. haha
but yeah, ants. so, if suicide is supposedly “unnatural”… what about all the other weird-ass things humans do on a daily basis that are totally not needed for our immediate survival? like, obviously trying to stop your body from surviving is unnatural, but that’s because your body is trained to do whatever it can to allow you (and your species) to survive. the amount of things that humans do that aren’t necessary for survival – you can include anything education-based there – is enormous. so i don’t really see credibility to the argument of “don’t do it…your body fights back for a reason” when i go out to eat and order an entire pizza just for myself. (not trying to push anyone over the edge by saying this…but to try to get on the same level for people who might be irked by those who use this argument as a means of trying to sympathize)
