Personally my depression scares me a bit, so I panic and start trying to find out what’s wrong by writing it down and sort of analyzing it on my computer. E.g. ATM I feel like I should be applying for a job, but I’m not doing it, and I’m depressed. So I’ve been trying to list what has motivated my actions in the past. I found out it has mostly been the expectations of other people. Anyway, it didn’t help much, I’m still depressed.
You could try to figure out whether there’s a banal cause to your depression. E.g. bad sleep, unhealthy eating, lack of exercise, loneliness, etc. In other words, attend to your human needs.

Any ideas?
Sometimes it seems you just have to wait it out.
