Am I the only one that doesn’t want to have to depend on medication to be the rest of my life? Because I went to the doctors the other day and he said that I’m going to have to be on medication all my life. And if I don’t take my low doses now then my suicidal thoughts will just get worse… I don’t want to have to depend on medication all my life… 🙁

what u taking btw?
I have medication… I just refuse to take it. I don’t want to have to depend on it. I want to get better on my own.
And if you have Instagram you can follow me. @secretly__batman xD
i get that but like xanadu said..if it helps it helps man. up to you tho ultimately
I suppose.
You have to depend on oxygen, food, water, an income, insurance, the mechanical soundness of whatever mode of transportation you rely on, and your doctor to help keep you healthy – a pill is a lot easier than the other stuff, but everyone takes the other stuff for granted. If it helps, it helps.
I honestly have no clue what I take for meds… Sorry
probs a good place to start is to know what ur poppin lol

I don’t know if anyone e really WANTS to be on meds but like has been previously stated, sometimes it’s the only thing that helps. I, personally, take five meds a day. Am supposed to take 6 but I’m shit at taking medication at more than one time a day. If I’m off them it’s bad news.
I want to be on my meds. Without them I turn into a mass of disorganized nonsense, and I sleep way too often.
SecretlyBatman,
I can understand not wishing to be on medication if there is a choice, but there is no shame in it if doing so helps. I do find it odd, however, that the doctor has surmised presently that you will require meds for the rest of your life. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not a medical professional and am not aware of exactly what it is you are dealing with. I just can’t recall ever hearing that before and it stuck out to me as kind of strange.

If it makes your life better, I guess that’s a great thing to have. Though it would suck at first having to remember to take them every day or whatnot, I think you could eventually get used to it. Like L4Y said, there’s no shame in it. If your body is douche enough to spam you with chemicals that make you unhappy, why not counter it with medication. But that is if it really does make you feel better. If it doesn’t, I wouldn’t use it. Doctors are just people too, and you know you and your feelings better than they do.
That being said, I resist medication myself. I haven’t even tried it, so I can’t say it wouldn’t make me feel better. But from the over-the-counter stuff I’ve had, and from what I’ve heard from people who do take depression medication and the like…it doesn’t really help anyways. It can even hinder you from being able to find real cures at times, in my personal, uneducated opinion. =P
