I met a young woman who later killed herself. And I really, really liked her, spontaneously. She was just a person who made me a little happier and optimistic about this world. What hurts is that you feel like you would have done pretty much anything they asked to help them, but you didn’t know it was that bad. In my case I hardly knew her at all. I think that is the disspiriting thing about suicide. You think: “if only”.
I don’t think anybody should be forced to suffer, but I think many suffer because they are alone.
Sorry to hear about the women u met she sounds lovely
My thoughts on mental health is that most people who have some kind of mental health issue have usually gone through some kind of emotional trauma in their life… often early in their life and then the trauma of it all clouds their minds and their ability to function and perceive things like most normal people do. I also believe that part of it is spiritual. If a person has a bad mental health issue they often replay bad experiences in their minds over and over and the trauma of it all can cause many to attempt suicide or hallucinate or make bad decisions including things like self harm or substance abuse.
I think most people think that suicide is a bad thing because its a life cut short. So the main idea of it stems from the thinking that everybody should get a chance to live a long happy healthy life. So if person commits suicide before their ripe age then it is perceived as being a sad negative situation.
I personally think a full grown adult should have the right to end their life if they want to. Especially if they are suffering in some really painful way. I don’t think its right to try and force a person to live if they really want to pass away and be done with their suffering.
I think mental and emotional traumas are the leading cause of mental illnesses. I also believe that some mental illnesses can be passed down from parent to child.
you ask some good questions!
Thank you both for your reply I agree with both of u yes lonelyness is a big killer and past truma do mess with your mental health
I believe people who are depressed have thought patterns that they cant escape. Something will bring them pain, and to add insult to injury, they are reminded of the same pain that plagues them. It’s not just “in the past”, it’s real, ubiquitous, inescapable- well, ALMOST inescapable.
