Hi folks… I am still pretty new here and really enjoying getting to know all of you! I have a hard time sharing all the hard things in life or dealing with them. I tend to make life one big diversion. I get relief from watching sports. love almost all of them. I also like watching British comedy on YouTube, like fresh meat or peep show. what are some things you folks enjoy as diversions?

Its like all my past time diversions are gone. Now I don’t even have anything in life that can distact me. Everything is just depressing.
Though, one thing, The Ellen Show, thats the one thing that makes me feel GENUINE happiness. Happiness that is real and NOT simply a distraction….
Otherwise, I don’t have anything in life anymore.
I lost it all.
so have I gt..everything..but I still try to use sports and the shows I like to keep from going too crazy… I have to turn down commercials or change the channel when something is traumatic and that can be anything.. you are always welcome to talk to me.. smiles your way
I want to sincerely thank you Sportsnut, for your offer. For replying to me. I wrote 3 posts, and really, I haven’t gotten much of a reply. I just wanted someone to hear me; to listen and say one thing. But everyone passed it by, cause, I guess it doesn’t matter…Its nice to know someone listens, and someone offers something out there.
I do care.. I am the sweetest person alive.. both a blessing and a curse.. I don’t even know how to open up. I love to read your honest posts and I count you as my friend
I take it sports is your diversion, sportsnut? 😛 what sports are u into?
I love sports, and I just ignore all the things about it I don’t like.. I like american football, baseball, basketball, english football. I like auto racing which is funny because I have no interest in cars. The teams I like are Chicago bears, new York giants, new York Yankees and Chicago cubs, Chicago bulls, Indiana Hoosiers to name a few.. I like brad koslowski in racing.. it keeps me going.. how about you .. what things do u like
I love MMA 😀
I wish I had the skills. Would love to beat the shit out of some ppl 😛
lol I love mma also.. although I have never been in a fight in my adult life.. man I hope conor gets whipped
who are ur faves?
I like cowboy.. he won last night.. I used to hate ronda now I feel really sad for her.. I kind of do that in sports..everyone says they knew she was going to loose but I read the chats, almost no one said that prior.. I like dos anjos and wideman and sometimes I like those goofy brothers
I really enjoy boxing and sports in general as something to do. Being in the gym with my headphones blaring is usually enough to keep me distracted most days.
lol the diaz bros are funny as shit. would totally love to meet them. i like jon jones, weidman, met luke rockhold and daniel cormier. would also love to meet GSP. and anderson silva. and matt serra cuz he’s funny.
i like all of those as well..I like when they have the fights on Fox..
I like art and beer. But I am cutting way down on the beer.
So Its Art, music, movies, bike riding, reading and writing
hey phantom.. I love music, reading, writing, and movies. I can’t listen to much music because it makes me too sad these days.. I feel it so deeply.. thanks for sharing with me.. what do you read and write?
sportsnut, i sing, and dance, ha ha! if you can call it that 🙂 i move crazy! i used to do it all the time, but i still do just not for a living. singing is the way i can drift away into others shoes and feel like other people, john Lennon, Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Bruce Springsteen, and so on, it pisses me off my favorites are dying! Joe Cocker, B.B.KING, BENNIE KING, ah lot of fucking kings!!! Glenn Frey,David Bowie, Elvis!! all these people were great transmitters of feelings to the human race. i’m a transmitter not famous but i keep them alive when i sing.
I love to sing but am also awful at it.. when I feel good I like to do karaoke, which is torture for others. I love all those singers you stated, also Bob Dylan.. and I have this weird obsession guilty pleasure for taylor swift.. I call her my Tay Tay
I play the Fallout games on Xbox. I’m a bamf who saves the world instead of being a middle-aged school teacher struggling with her own mental apocalypse.
that’s really cool.. I am not very good at those kind of games.. I did just start playing a word game online..
For me there really is no such thing as a diversion. I always see the pictures.
Going to church used to be a great way to get away from the pictures, however.
Another (former, as it doesn’t work anymore) distraction: taking care of virtual tarantulas. But that is a post for another day.
I used to love church but now I don’t fit plus my anxiety gets the best of me.. would love to hear about the spiders…haha
Yeah, growing out of a church always sucks.
The first church I ever attended was far away, had to take a bus to get there, and when the old bus driver got fired, he was replaced with two new, mean drivers that refused to continue picking me up. I cried and cried.
And my second church has just stopped feeling like home…I feel like a stranger there…gah, if I keep talking about this, I’m going to melt into a puddle of tears.
I wish you best of luck in finding a new church (that is, if you want to).
Haha, thanks. Who knows, maybe I’ll post about it tomorrow. I love spiders. <3
No matter how much of a bitter headcase I become, I think I will always have a soft spot in my heart for spiders.
thanks for talking to me.. like I said before you are one of my faves.. and you can always talk to me about anything
No need to thank me! 🙂 Im glad to talk to you.
And it’s just so surreal that I’ve inspired such positivity in someone before they even got an account here. Makes me wonder who else is reading?
To any satellites out there who may be looking: I’m rooting for you! You got this!
I love my music, not that I make per say, but all the artists and bands I listen to. I love making playlists and back in the day, mix tapes. I enjoy writing and art. I once took an,art therapy course and it was amazing. My cats help too, love those two.
oh yes… nothing like the mix tape
My diversions:
1. Trying to learn German
2. Being a rabid fan of R.E.M, and having lurid daydreams about the bass player
3. Composing/Playing/Listening to music
4. Reading (anything from news, to Stephen King short stories, to Sherlock Holmes, to humor, to scientific stuff… or hey, any book about R.E.M.
5. Obnoxiously difficult crossword puzzles and Sudoku
6. Watching old TV episodes from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s…. (Original Star Trek series, The Monkees, Addams Family, Munsters, Lost In Space, Twlight Zone, Outer Limits, Original Batman series…)
7. Losing things and trying to remember where I left them, and trying to convince myself that this doesn’t *really* mean I’m getting old
nice list..thank you so much for sharing..
Nothing. They are all just bandages to me. Just wanting to die. Sorry for morbid answer
The truth is never a wrong (or morbid) answer. Out of all of us here, you are probably the only one that gave the answer that all of us are truly feeling.
Hi SportsNut, Thanks for the question!
My diversion is the blues (hence my User Name); the really old, raw, acoustic, blues; the kind Son House used to play. Check him out.

I’m kind of an urban hermit; spend a lot of time by myself these days. So I play these songs on my guitar, singing to myself, really pouring my heart out. On the days that I don’t have the energy to play, I sometimes watch the videos on YouTube.
But I do relate to Not Interested In Life’s answer. I do go periods when I lose all fascination with existence. So far, I have survived those dark periods. But for how long can I keep it up? I don’t know? I sing the blues because I am the blues.
Again, thanks for your friendship.
Your friend,
Jack
