I have a good career and respect and I am about to loose it all. In the moment of rash madness I sent what could be seen as a threatening text to a former boss. I will probably lose my job I want my life to end in the next few days.

Sending a regretable text to a former boss is not worth dying for son
Maybe if you explained yourself calmly. You can apologize and say that you’re under stress and say that you’re going to see a counselor. I do not know where you live but there are laws in the US that protect the mentally ill who seek help. I am not saying that you are mentally ill because i do not know you and i do not have a degree to diagnose any1. just an idea to save your job. I was almost fired once. It was scary. I actually checked myself in to a clinic which saved my job. I needed to though – especially after i lost my fiance, all my friends and family.
