There’s no heartache you won’t recover from

There is no past that you can’t overcome

There is no sadness that can drown you long enough

For you to come up gasping for breath

Thought It Was Love

I believed that love was just around the corner

Just a few feet away

I found my love’s shoulder

and he told me “Tonight you need to stay.”

It was secret, me and him.

At age 15 and him 4 years and ten days away

Truth

I look in the mirror and stand in distaste.

I’m overweight

with such a beautiful face.

Some call me a “fatass”

and my heart just breaks.

If only they knew me

past the fat and their hate.

They don’t know that I try everyday.

I run miles and diet to try lose all the weight.

It’s a hard and slow process in which I can’t just speed up.

This is the reason I hate myself.

The weight that holds me down.

But farther than needed be.

They Said I Was Safe

10 years ago I was released from being sexually abused for two years.

My mother would work nights, and my older brother was asleep. He always was a heavy sleeper.

The predator took in me in the middle of the night to keep his “needs” at rest.

From ages 3-5 I was a prisoner. I was held against my will in a bed with my mother’s boyfriend at the time.

What a sick, twisted game.
