For those of you who have pondered through this and have gone through careful consideration, what method have you come up with? Which is easiest or least painful in your opinion?
Depends where you live. In america I can get a shotgun @ walmart (the one walking distance from me recently started selling them). A shotgun blast with triple ought ammo @ 45 degrees in your mouth is pretty much a sure thing(I’m going to find out tomorrow) if your not in america helium(real helium not balloonium or whatever) and an exit bag. If that isn’t available a tall enough building or bridge will do it. How ever that fall seems terrifying and working on a bridge I know that it may not be enough depending how you fall. Even if you eventually die you may hit the water breaking your bones but survive long enough to drown. That seems painful. If all else fails than hanging but that takes time as well.
Helium is definitely the best option in developed countries. You are unconscious on your 2nd breath and dead in 10 minutes. Just be sure andd secure your hands as, even in umconsciousness, your body will automatically try and remove the bag
Hanging is a no-no. Artistically speaking it isn’t elegant at all. Jumping is the way to go. Then again, it shouldn’t matter how you die so long as you get the job done, yes.
Helium is my preferred way out as well. It seems the most peaceful way to go. How I will obtain the helium tank, i don’t know. I think there’s an age requirement to purchase that. One for a shotgun too.
One of my biggest fears is drowning or suffocating (hanging). It’s just the most uncomfortable feeling and I don’t know if I could go through with it.
Where I live there really aren’t many tall buildings.
What do you guys think about OD-ing? I know that the success rate is very very low, but why is that the case? Is it because someone usually finds you before you die? Or they don’t take enough pills? Is it a matter of time?
Another way I thought of was overdosing on Heroin. All you’d have to do is inject a lot into your system and wait. Seems peaceful enough. Where would I get it though? It’s difficult to find in the area I live in.
What do you guys think? Thanks for all the replies, by the way. (:
I’ve tried over dosing before, I didn’t take near enough pills because I didn’t have that many. As for helium, seems easy. Herion, I have no access to it either.
I want to try using a disposable helium tank in the next year or two. Gotta pay off my student loans first. I can’t seem to locate a retailer that sells the Jumbo 50-balloon tank from Balloon Time but have found a few places that carry the 30-balloon canister. I hope to find a partner to do it with, don’t want to be alone as I have been alone my whole life already.
currently i’m reasonably well medicated. (also extremely foggy and disinterested as joyous side effects)
if things get bad enough again i’ll also vote for helium
typically a deposit is required or a hold on a credit card but i haven’t heard of an age limit. simply tell the sales clerk it’s for a party. if there is an age restriction enlist the help of an older friend to rent you a tank. again use the suggestion that the tank is needed for a party. there have been suggestions that balloon helium is ineffectual. i’ve not seen anything indicating that there’s anything other than helium in a tank of balloon gas. the label on the tank will clearly indicate its contents. they can’t legally misrepresent the contents (because of safety reasons for the weird people that still want to be alive)
the regulator that comes with a tank to be used for balloons is unsuited for use in self snuffing. you need one that will allow a low pressure constant feed of the gas. the one for the balloon is high pressure and only stays on while you’re holding it (not too useful after you pass out). you can either buy a regulator from your local welding shop for lots and lots of money or you can get one from the internet for pretty cheap. i think i got mine from amazon for around $50 after shipping. if you do get you helium from a balloon place it’s wise to also rent their regulator to avoid raising the suspicion that you may be using the tank for anything other than filling balloons.
i think there might even be some youtube videos of a kind older australian nurse demonstrating the whole process.
helium is a popular choice with the terminally ill who no longer wish to wait for death to visit them. i think mental illness is more like terminal illness than some people would like you to believe. if i did even 1% of the things my brain tries to convince me to do i would be quite quickly nominated as a candidate for the death penalty. it would be nice to make those urges stop by forever silencing those voices. helium seems like a good way to make them quiet.
my nose is stuffed up and i can’t sleep and i have to get up in less time than i want to be sleeping for. arrgh.
in the mean time i’m going to take my stuffy nose and my foggy brain and i’m going to go eat some ice cream and then try sleeping again. another lucky side effect of the meds is that i never stop wanting to eat garbage. i think that side effect is the funniest one to me. i’ve gained 50lbs since i started the drug and i don’t seem to be able to slow down. i’m usually quite physically fit and not all together outwardly repulsive but the fatter i get the grumpier i seem to get and still i feel the need to eat.
jumping in front of a train, it is effective, close to where i live, and i won’t have to think about it as i would with trying to drown myself or whatever.
I thought about the train once, and then I remember all those people that died a while ago because a train got de-railed… not sure if it was de-railed because of a jumper…. worse case scenario even if no one died, the train would be slowed down, so loads of people will be late.

Simple, hanging maybe. Simplest way there is.

Jumping, hmm there’s a bridge not to far from me. But I really liked the idea leaky came up with, laying on the train tracks.

sorry for hijacking your post with my ramblings
good luck figuring out what you need
