I can’t say that my parents are divorced, or say that they fight or that I’m unhappy with anyone. But there are some things in my life I would like to change:
1)Make friends.
2)Stop cutting.
3) Recover from my endless depression.
My parents they are ordinary parents. They want the best for me. To go to University, get a good job and have a loving husband and children. But sometimes the pressure gets way too overwhelming. What if I mess up in high school? What if I don’t become doctor? What will happen then? I let my parents down, who sacrificed everything for my well being.
Sometimes I would look in the mirror and see a small, fragile girl standing in front of me, all hope washed away from her eyes. I mean I don’t even have a friend I could talk to with about my problems with, you know to share the burden a little.
When I go to sleep the only dreams I have is of me stranded on a tiny island. I’m crying for help but everyone just turns their back on me and walks away as if I’m invisible.
Do any of you feel that way? Like your going to collapse any given second, you just need that one final budge and you’re done? That’s how I’ve felt all my life.
Broken
Scared
Alone
Depressed
Sad

hi, TheLostGirl… You started your note quite well… with three goals. Sometimes, setting goals is the hardest thing to do. With those goals, they give you a direction to focus on. That’s always helpful.
I remember the pressures of high school… and it’s good that you’re worried about your studies. My suggestion would be not to overly worry about messing up. If there comes a time where you need some help, there are teachers, your classmates, and others who could help you. Study hard, do your best, and know when to request help. That’s all anybody can ask. It’s still a little early to think about not becoming a doctor. Each day you’re successful between now and college is one step closer to becoming a doctor.
You mentioned that you don’t have a friend to share your problems with. Are there people in your life that you can speak to? If not, are there schools clubs, athletic teams, community service organizations, or something similar in which you can meet new friends?
On this site, there are quite a few people who walk in similar shoes… and they’ll be happy to listen, encourage, and help the best they can. You’re definitely not alone.
This is really thoughtful of you to leave such a long message, one that shows concern towards me and actually gives me some hope. I’ve been trying to get help for a really long time but no one now a days listens to anyone’s problem unless it involves them. I really do appreciate you taking time to write such a thoughtful message. I’m just looking for a person to listen to me without judging my character. Thanks!
Hi TheLostGirl… Many people here will be happy to listen. You won’t be judged here. A lot of us are working our way though life’s challenges…. day by day. If there is anything I can do, or anyone can do, just share what’s on your mind.
