So today I found out that I’m failing a class. I’m so disappointed and ashamed in myself cause I used to be the girl in the front of the room telling you the answer to problem 7 and earning good grades. Now I’m the girl in the back of the class room asking you for the answer to number 7 and receiving bad grades. I get told constantly that I could do better , but when I try my best can still get improvement.
I get told to ask the teacher for help but I don’t want to. 1. Because I feel dumb and ashamed, and 2. Because I feel like I can’t get the help. I just wanna be myself again!

We all have times where we need to ask for help. I understand the hesitation to ask for help, but not asking because you “don’t want to” isn’t going to help… and you might even fall further behind. Ask somebody for help… Swallow your pride for a little while now and maybe down the road you’ll be in front of the class again.
to be fair, she gave two reasons for her disinclination, rather than simply being ambiguously disinclined.
1. everyone feels dumb sometimes, and you shouldn’t feel ashamed
2. “if you don’t ask, the answer is always ‘No.’ “
What are you asking for? Help with your class or help with your depression? We can probably only do the latter.
I need help with both. And I don’t ask like ever. I understand that it’s wrong but I continue it anyway. Thanks though.
@ClairDeLune the depression will always be there, a never ending battle. As of now my class.

If you don’t want to ask a teacher for help, try some supplemental online learning. The Khan academy is really cool and really useful for math.
BTW – Grades aren’t as important as school makes you think they are; just try your best, study stuff you’re interested in, and try and enjoy your life.
You don’t need all As to have a cool future — trust me. I was a straight A student until high school; when I couldn’t take other kids bullshit anymore, so I decided to drop out and get my GED. I got accepted into the college I wanted no problem and I have a career in my field. You can do the same thing, no matter what grades you get in high school.
