So, tomorrow I will be away from technology for 24 hours, because I’m involved in the Every 15 Minutes project.
“The Every 15 Minutes Program offers real-life experience without the real-life risks. This emotionally charged program, entitled Every 15 Minutes, is an event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol and texting while driving. This powerful program will challenge students to think about drinking, texting while driving, personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved.” (-The Website)
I couldn’t tell very many people, because nobody at school can know it’s happening, so I had to tell people that I’ve been getting involved in scholarship meetings, when in all actuality, I was going to meetings to find out more of why I was chosen and what we’ll be doing. I was one of the people chosen because apparently, I’m someone that will be missed. How funny. I get to go to the morgue, county jail, and then to the hotel we’ll be staying at…for team building exercises or some shit.
The people I’ll be stuck with are like, the prominent students, people involved in sports and extra-curricular bullshit. And then me. This pissed off little punk chick who doesn’t belong. I keep wondering what would happen if I really did die, on the way to school or something. Oh, another fun thing: I can’t smoke cigarettes for practically two days. I’m not excited. At all.
