Besides sleep, gaming is my really only other means of escape. So what do you use to escape your own reality. And I know it’s a sad means of escaping, but honestly I don’t hardly have the energy for much else.
I create another world in which I can finally be, where I can be free from this nightmare. Everything isn’t perfect, but life there is real. There is so much more to say, but I don’t feel inspired tonight.
I used to use drugs and alcohol but that got old really quick
Games mostly and sometimes just my imagination/delusions
I made an imaginary friend a while back, she pops up whenever I’m about to lose my cool
I play rugby, I have made some really great friends on the team and they help keep me together. But being able to tackle some one is a great way to forget about everything if even for a moment.
Movies: I LOVE Suicide Room (a polish movie, but there is with english subs on youtube), Chatroom, Girl Intrerrupted, virgin suicides, purgatory house, secret cutting, waking madison, prozac nation, control, dying to belong, thirteen…
Songs: All of the Tokio Hotel songs, especially:Sacred, On the edge and Don’t jump.(the last two are about suicide-drugs), I love Red-Nothing And Everything(listen to it, it’s awesome) and Billy Talent-Nothing to lose. Fray-how to save a life/you found me, Evanescence, some of Avril lavigne, and of Nickelback.
The Suicide Room was a terrible movie, overdramatized and didn’t realistically depict suicide or depression at all. I cringed the entire movie at how bad it was, the ending was shit too
I think that it clearly showed the pain of a teenage boy, who was almost neglected by his parents and bullied at school for being bisexual. It felt real, and I know that many people who watched it related to this character.
I play Webkinz (tbh) Skyrim, the Elder Scrolls video games (They’re my absolute favorite!) the Fallout series among other games. I’ve recently been granted the opportunity to play Elder Scrolls Online but I haven’t gotten around to it. I spend my time mindlessly reading SP posts and LOLing at some, punching Giants fans, flashing underpaid, overworked Staples’ employees and crying bc only my mom liked my FB profile picture.
I occasionally flirt with the local maple tree, but they always tell me to “shove a branch up my ass and leave me the fuck alone you fucking creepy ass vegetarian” (which is funny because I’m not actually a vegetarian, i dont know why people get the impression, perhaps it’s the PETA tattoo I got on my forehead while drunk last week?)
Y’all mofukkas need to get down with DayZ, ya hurr…
Honestly, it’s pretty good and the designer (ol’ Deano) was an officer in the NZ Army. The idea for this was rejected by the higher ups, as he wanted to use our weapons simulation system as a platform for teaching soldier’s essential survival skills, but the idea of zombies wasn’t exactly smiled upon.
I mean sure: I’ve been held at gun point, stripped of my belongings and forced to walk around the map wearing only underwear, but the authenticity of the whole “downfall of society” dynamic is eye opening. You see how people would react in a real life scenario, and granted I dropped a few people without giving them the benefit of the doubt, but that’s the reality of the world when societal norms are replaced with automatic weapons and flesh eating deadites.
My first experience with potbelly-pole dancing was when my grandma took up the sport to build upper body strength to knit a replica of Nancy Pelosi in one sitting. Life’s rough.
@Shephard: DayZ is amazing. Nothing quite like running around with some random person in a zombie apocalypse for a couple of hours, building up trust between the two of you throughout that time, only to be betrayed and shot in the back of the head when shit gets real.
I was hoping the local retirement home would hire me on as the resident male exotic dancer. (Grammas are generous with dollar bills). I haven’t gotten a call back yet.
you seem to have the physique for a good pole dancer, you should volunteer to be PETA’s representative pole dancer in the name of the good for animals.
Can confirm; whale tail was a speciality at my uncles gang pad. 0/10 – Some crevices are never meant to be explored.
@TheRiver – I have high hopes for the standalone version, we should team up some time if you still play? Haven’t been on in yonks. I tend to lone wolf it most times as I know the Chernarus map blindfolded from my ArmA II days. As they say; “all contacts are deemed hostile until proven otherwise”. But then you have those shifty bastards who pop your noggin, steal your Lee-Enfield and canned goods, and take off into the boosh without a care in the world.
Yeah, any charity that holds pole dancing fund raising events can’t be all bad.
I wonder if any feminist organizations have ever held a wet T shirt contest? Hmmm.
The standalone is actually playable through early access I think…I’ll probably wait for a more complete version though. It’s been awhile since I’ve played too. But yeah I’d probly be down. I’d have to play it at my bud’s place, though. I am planning on getting the standalone on my computer, at some point, so let me know if you get it.
One odd thing about making any sort of plans with people on this site is that some of them are on a ticking clock, and may not have time for anything long-term. I think I saw you measuring your time in months. That’s not too long.
Yah, I’d seen that. Looks alright in its current state but it’s bound to get better as the year progresses. If they can sort out server issues, spawn rates and such, whilst adding more content and refining the original experience – mate, you’re sussed. I’ll see what the tax man gives me, as I’m looking to build a beefin’ rig so I can play the more demanding PC games (and mod the shit outta them) so yeah, I’ll keep you informed.
I have nothing but time, mate. We’ll see how this all pans out. Always nice to have something else to look forward to though.

I do the same thing. League of legends and skyrim are my drugs.

I watch depressing movies and listen to sad music with my eyes closed. Sometimes, I also read online books and imagine how my life would be different…
I do alot of that as well Kelly. What are some of your favorite sad movies and songs.

No, my PETA tattoo stands for “Poledancing Erotically To Adele” got a problem?
That’s Hawt.
Wait a minute – isn’t Adele sorta chunky? Those poles have weight limits.
If you haven’t seen a fat woman pole dance you haven’t lived
Ahh, ok *Thats* what’s been missing from my life.

@c4 and SB ….lol

“Are you friendly?!?!?”
it came out looking more like Lil Wayne after being punched in the face 27 times.

Such is life.

@ Stendarr; I just remembered: Isn’t your birthday this week? If so, Happy B-day. 🙂
