Do you think it’s better that we know we have the option to end our lives ourselves or would it have been better if we did not know it was possible for us to commit suicide? Does knowing we can kill ourselves make us give up more easily and not look for a solution than if we didn’t know suicide was an option?
I don’t know if that make sense just curious as to other people’s opinions.

You’re right! If there was no option like “suicide” our life would be different, but we giveup without trying to solve our problems because at the end we’re going to suicide. But most people commit suicide because the mental torture is much more painful than suicide itself. So, to put an end to suffering people commit suicide. It’s sad but real.
In my case, I guess it would be easier to suicide without knowing it. When I searched things about suicide, one of the first things the pops is the we can have help mental ou healthly. So it made me think maybe there was something wrong with me that I just needed a doctor. Then comes the sadness of people around us which makes it a little harder to do. After that, there is the discussion of which way is painless. If I didn’t know there were painless methods, I would just fall from 9th floor.
I think suicide is in most cases a last resort. it’s not the first option, but it makes it better to have a fallback.
I agree with freeroma. As much as people say suicide is the easy way out, killing yourself is hard as evidenced by this site. The thought of having to end my life painfully to say goodbye to even more unbearable pain is scary, but it’s such a relief knowing it can be done. It’s almost like a resource to cope. What a joke…
for me I never contemplated suicide for the longest time because my life was manageable. So when life is good and manageable we usually don’t need to contemplate suicide. Its when things get dark and the problems pie up and the pain of it all starts to make us wonder if its even worth going on. But me I do believe for sure IMHO that it is good to know that suicide is an option and I think its a very viable option for a lot of people who have it really really bad. I mean why suffer tremendously every day when you can just end it. I mean we do it with animals. A horse breaks its back leg and they know it will never really recover and its to expensive to have surgery on it so they just put it to sleep. We do it with other pets too. If a pet has an issue it wont be able to recover from we just put it to sleep. I think its a good concept.
if you get to the point where there is no hope of a good life that is free from pain and torment then just end it. that’s what I say. The only problem with humans is they say suicide is against the law and they try to make it hard for people to get what they would need to put themselves to sleep easily>> I think they should do away with that bullshit and just make suicide kits available at wallgreens. A persons life sucks get the kit give your self a shot or take some pills and bam your dead. Problems and pain GONE
I think it’s very important to have the option of suicide. No one asked us if we wanted to be born into this world, and the most basic freedom of all, i think, is to have the right to choose if we want to stay here or not. Not having the option might help some, and it will certainly guarantee a lot more suffering for people who otherwise would have killed themselves.
