Open them pig jowl’s up for me so I can force feed you the dirtiest and the foulest of truth.
The sickness begins in dreams. They nail you into place and lie and say “You can be anything you want to” and I hate you and I hate myself for believing it.
Truth is, dreams don’t come true and the only time you get your name in the paper is when you die! Obituaries, Gossip Column’s and the Entertainment page is all the same and to see it you just half to read between the lines. It’s right there in black and white for a dollar fifty.
The prettiest of lies are wrote in stone, Headstone’s to be exact.
So please, flop your jowl’s open and swallow the disgusting truth whole and maybe, just maybe you’ll choke to death on it and get your name in the papers and a pretty little lie carved in stone a little sooner than the rest of us.

I never believed in dreams. As a child I knew I did not possess the foresight for such things as the direction of my future and I knew it would be stupid to try and convince myself otherwise.

Dreams are the siblings of hope. They just don’t know what they are talking about.
Hope is irrational.
It is wishful thinking. 🙁
Irrational hope is irrational; realistic hope is realistic.
The inability to form appropriate expectations, rooted in lack of “better judgment,” is a rampant pandemic, for which the cure is stifled by oppression and disinformation.
Realistic hope is realistic, but things can still go wrong (although less frequently than with utopian dreams)…
Of course. Hope isn’t about expecting, it’s about keeping yourself motivated during hardship, so you won’t just quit and seal the deal to make what you wish to achieve become impossible.
But lots of people get caught up in forming irrational expectations, and calling it “hope.” That almost always leads to disappointment.
Well, you know how some people call the glass “half full” and some call it “half empty”. In the same way some will still not see it as empty if there is just a little bit of water in it (and of course technically speaking the glass is not empty if there is still even a tiny amount of water in it), but others will call it empty; and some will not see it as full even if the water is close to the rim of the glass (say 85% full), while others will call it full even if technically speaking it is not full.
Even an “empty” glass still contains atmosphere… so as long as it’s not in the vacuum of space, it’s not empty; it just might not contain water.
try a google: “xkcd glass half full”
I hate hope because it means disappointment.
Hopeful people can be seen in places like Las Vegas where they drop their money hour after hour until they are hopeless.
Disappointment is truly the highest form of success. I thought I learned that the first day of school, but I didn’t REALLY know what being nailed down was. And for not knowing what your talking about is worth it’s weight in gold.
When they told me i could be anything… i wanted to be everything.
That’s when everyone realized they had bitten off more than they could chew.
There’s a quote from Citizen Kane that should suffice.
“I’m not interested in gold mines, Oil wells, Shipping or Real Estate. What would I like to have been? Everything you hate”
I’m also being told to be hopeful, hopeful for what; luck is one thing that can just happen out of the blue but to hope for something, pointless, and as TormentedSoul says, I always get disappointed.
I don’t know what your dreams are but you’re an extremely talented writer.

Thank you for the kind words Disenchanted7.
Sadly enough my dreams will never come true because those who sell the media and run smear campaigns are turning my dreams into something dirty and shameful all because I don’t have the family friendly image they need to sell.

I saw a quote elsewhere today that i thought was fantastic:
“Find what you love and let it kill you.”
Source:
“My dear,
Find what you love and let it kill you.
Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness.
Let it kill you and let it devour your remains.
For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much better to be killed by a lover.
~ Falsely yours”

Ugh, that stupid question mark is there because of a non-standards-compliant software that uses proprietary “tags” (“smart quotes?”) instead of what it’s supposed to use, so when you copy/paste, it breaks. ^^
