Does anyone find that the more depressed you become, the more constipated you get? Any relation? It seems this way for me. Also, does anyone have any success using over the counter enemas? The worse my depression gets, the less often I have a bowel movement. And since I’ve been basically suicidal lately, I’ve also been backed up. Fiber food/pills/dulcolax don’t help. Any ideas?

Eating a lot of peaches does the trick for me. You should try that out. They are cheap and you don’t need a doctor’s prescription to buy them.
Epsom salt and mineral oil might help.
Best of luck.
dude I liken depression to emotional constipation of sorts. to me, it only makes sense that if one dimension of our being is stuffed up it will metastasize to other facets of ourselves. try lots of water. maybe do a body cleanse to flush your digestive tract out and get a fresh clean start.
I’ve actually noticed this as well, and i think it has something to do with reduced activity and physical exertion, combined with decreased appetite.
If you don’t move much and don’t eat much, and are constantly stressed, your metabolism slows to a crawl. You’re not burning calories and so your body doesn’t “crave” them, which decreases the frequency and amount of food intake, which in turn reduces the body’s need to expel waste. Or something like that.
Now that you mention it…
but I have the metabolism of 4 men, so I’m good. I’m a toothpick btw… I swear I eat for four days and nothing sometimes… It’s phenomenal.
I usually have a bowl of museli to help but have recently notice I go less, not sure why though, could be stress.
