I’m sure my story isn’t unique. I started off strong and passionate. Now it’s just physical and emotional pain. Both equally disable my ability to love, converse, work, and sleep. My heart pounds every day like the annoying construction workers outside my window.
I’ve tried meds and nothing helps. The anxiety is just too much to handle. I live in San Francisco and see the golden gate bridge on a daily basis. If only I had the balls to jump off. Everyday is worse than the last. I guess I’ll just try and OD on morphine again, but it never works. I’ve taken over 1000 mg. several times. Others around me die and have died time and time again. Please let it be me…

Your story sounds much like mine, sans the morphine. I guess my entire life of being a prude has left me unable to even consider abusing drugs. (Plus I’ve particularly loathed morphine ever since I had to use it after a car wreck..) But oh what I’d give for a gun…
Greetings from a small-ish town in Mississippi, where there is no structure high enough to jump off. I’ve always wanted to visit San Francisco. ^^
Thanks for the comment Morcante. And yes, I wish I only had a gun.. I should’ve done it when I was in basic training.
I live in San Francisco also and drive across the bridge often. I have always thought that those who jump have immense courage, as I could never freefall from such a height. Besides, who wants to be terrified right before they die. Others have survived, but have been paralyzed or comatose. All in all, not my chosen way to go.
How often do people attempt jumping off the Golden gate bridge? O.o
Quite often. It’s one of the world’s suicide hotspots. It goes right up there with Aokigahara in Japan.
Another thing you can peep out on YT
Well, I’ve always wanted to go to San Francisco, maybe when I’m there, I’ll give it a shot.
M mentioned the barrier. The GG Bridge board of directors just voted to fund for a suicide barrier ($76 million), which they estimate will be completed by 2018, so we all have a while…
Not sure about attempts, but 46 succeeded last year. A documentary was made in 2006 about GG bridge suicides called The Bridge. Very gut wrenching but sobering to watch.
Really? they announced that it would be ready in 2018? that’s the most stupid idea ever. It’s like saying “you have until 2018 to decide if you want to jump, and we are letting you know beforehand so you don’t miss up on your chance!”…. i can’t believe they can’t figure out that scenario.
Incompetence aside, Aokigahara is beautiful (besides the grim circumstances surrounding it), if i could choose a place to depart, that would be it.
Well, I’ve heard that falling from extreme heights causes people to fall out of consciousness, so jumping might not be the worst case in some scenarios.
^ my comment was meant for silence is deafenings’ post above -.- ^ whoops
Lol, “Migration to San Francisco and surrounding bay area sharply rises”
And then it mysteriously drops… o.o
And you posted again above my extreme heights post, ironically, lol.
That is ironic! Anyway, I have not heard about losing consciousness while falling, but if it occurred, that would be a blessing. The Bridge movie said that it is a 12 to 15 second freefall (I don’t remember exactly), and that it is sheer terror going down (according to one of the survivors).
Maybe some people just pass out because of fear.. I can only hope that anyone sucked out of a plane or jumping off a tall building could experience such a luxery.
I feel compelled to mention fainting goats…
tree goats
3 of us live close
I’ve worked in San Fran and Oakland for years in the tallest buildings. I’ve actually written a few posts here inspired by them. I’ve had many chances to simply…jump
Just saying…
Everytime you continue to OD on morphine the chance of it working decreases… you build up tolerance over it, so you’d only end up hurting yourself even more… i don’t know about the bridge but i think someone mentioned a couple of days ago that they are building a barrier on it to prevent suicides. In any case i hope you can overcome your anxiety, and for what it’s worth, we all start life with passion and conviction but what can i say… life happens, and it isn’t always nice or easy.
Really??? Taking morphing often can increase my tolerance?? You’re really smart. Never figured that before.
BTW everyone…. They’re VOTING on the barrier. (something they’ve done 100 times before) It hasn’t happened yet and it probably never will.
