I was searching Google for the painless pill people were discussing last night and came across a link to the most common ways oncr thought yo be painless but really are painful. It’s a site called something like o pish posh. You’ll see it. It ran down ods from pills to hanging which I knew was painful cuz it takes up to twenty mins to die and even addresses jumpin from a tall building which people do survive. It’s gotta be at least 25 stories. Then they play an amazing video documentary called the bridge. Interviewing witnesses family and one survivorxwo jumper the 245 foot jump going 75mph. Most die upon impact but some will live the impact and simply drown whivh causes a lot of mental panic and physical pain as you are suffocating. The bride has cameras and the documentary showed all these people jumping. It made me so sad.I get why the did it. The one who survived turned his body mid air cuz he changed his mind. It’s a four second drop and another three to get back to the surface. He ssid he was gully awake and thought he felt a shark but rescuers said it was a sea lion circling him and that’s egst saved him frkm drowning. I live and eent to school at sfsu for five yesrs but I wasn’t suicidal. I am obsessing with it now. I know if I was there I would fo it. I move water. I have no problem eith the jump at all.if some have read my previous posts I already jumped off San Diego’s sunset cliffs with a running leap when I was sixteen at one in yhe morning fully clothed at low tide straight to the rocks into the undercurrent. So this method I can very easily do. My point of this post is the site gives the pros and cons of methods and you see an amazinv yef for me heartbreaking doc called the bridge

Sry typos. I type too fast
Interesting..thanks for sharing.
I’ve seen that. It’s been a while though. I remember being amazed at how many people actually survive that fall. Their bodies are shattered and they are full of broken bones, but it seemed to be more the drowning or exposure that got them afterwards than the impact itself.
A very good documentary…
2% survive
That’s total including drowning after the impact, not just the jump itself.
Those 4 seconds must seem eternal. The psychological damage if you survive that… ugh, i don’t even want to imagine.
You jumped off a cliff at low tide straight into rocks when you were 16 keckis? How come you’re still alive? Kudos to you if you have no problem jumping. No way am I going out that way, ugh.
I’ve seen The Bridge too, twice. It’s a heartrending but fascinating watch.
Many more people die from jumping off the GG bridge than statistics state and the police officers patrolling the bridge daily by foot prevent several individuals each day from jumping. When they jump at night, the very swift currents sweep them out to the not so distant ocean never to be found again. Or, sometimes the bodies wash up on the shores of beaches along the coast. But unless it can be confirmed that they jumped from the bridge, they aren’t counted in the official tally. Even if they find an abandoned car or rental car in the parking lots near the bridge, they aren’t counted because no proof they jumped to their death. Most jumpers die by drowning not from the actual fall. The fall breaks legs, backs, etc. and they can’t swim to safety or tread water for rescue. Definitely a scary way to end one’s life. Suicide nets will be built on the GG bridge to try to prevent jumpers – though, they may just find an alternate place to end their lives.
painkillers + gg bridge
I wouldn’t do it without them… ouch
So even less than 2% survive…would say itd be nice if I lived nearby..but id probably chicken out anyways :l
A lot of bridges will do, especially if you live in a colder climate. If the fall doesn’t get you, the ice will and you just drown underneath it.
Meh I live in Texas so theres a no go with the ice..though apparently there are bridges people have jumped from..Still…im a little ***** cant go through with other stuff don’t see why this would be any different :l
Yep, the count is definitely understated due to strict manner in which the “official” tally of jumpers is tallied. Swift currents and lots of sharks in nearby ocean mean that the bodies of many jumpers are never found. I think the cameras were only on the GG bridge for the film. I don’t think there are regular cameras filming on the bridge. Fortunately, there will be safety nets on the bridge in a few years.
