I used to consider myself pretty smart and a good student, but nowhere else have I felt as lazy and stupid as when I’m in class. High school was a breeze cause the stuff was easy and we hardly did anything, but this so called “Higher Education” is such a waste. Many professors don’t teach and expect you to do everything they can do. Nice self-esteem killer. And even if you pass it doesn’t prove you have any practical skills.
So, feel free to share your college horror stories.

hmm where do I begin from the horror roomate I had my freshman year of college. or the bitchy adjucnt professor that I had for english comp II that hated my guts.
Wasn’t smart or rich enough to go to uni
I once asked in a graduate seminar class about where to find a particular reference he had mentioned. The professor totally put me down saying that I should know. Well, I’d had enough. I told him that if he didn’t tell me, I still might not know and that it was his job to teach, help me. That’s what he was being paid for.
The entire class was shocked that I would even ‘dare’ to say such a thing. I got the seminar topic from hell for my thesis.
A professor who figured he should give low grades cause he felt like it. No explanation, no idea what was incorrect with the work, so no help either in trying to fix it. A couple of us overachievers wouldn’t let it go and it was looked into. Not sure what happened exactly but our work was revaluated, top grades reinstated, and he was gone after that semester. I was very grateful the counsellors actually listened to us when he wouldn’t communicate and did what was needed to fix it.
