I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to be depressed or sad and then we got an ice storm and I got stuck at home and my grandma passed away and now I’m crying my eyes out. We won’t be able to go to Kansas for the funeral and it breaks my heart knowing that I’ll never see her again…

Your grandmother is not in Kansas just as long as she has a funeral.
If you believe in life after death….heaven….you believe that she will always be there. She will always answer when you cry and when you call.
And….if you don’t believe…she was gone the second she died…
Being there at the funeral isn’t about her….it is about family….and mourning.
Missing a funeral is really irrelevant either way.
Loss is more about YOU and what you need….pray…mourn….gain what you need from her “spirit”.
It still just feels so surreal. I’ve gone through loss before but it never is any easier.
