1. We exist
2. Every action has an equal reaction
3. We are the Universe and the Universe is us
4. Change is continuous
5. There is no past or future, only now.
I suddenly realized how horrific #2 is. No matter how furiously hard we struggle to make our lives–or our world–a better place, we will encounter just as much furious resistance.
Leading me to my thoughts on #4… change is only continuous in that the universe is constantly undoing all foolish efforts to create order, as the universe irrevocably reverts to its natural state of entropy: “gradual decline into disorder.”
I was wondering about number 2 as well. I wonder if an action is followed by an equal reaction. Every action has a reaction, but i’d say it’s rarely equal if you measure it on any scale (fair/unfair, more/less, etc), i guess it depends more on the circumstances and objects/people related to the action than the action itself. Or maybe you could consider that the circumstances absorb or potentiate part of the reaction so it seems like it’s not equal, but then… is it? lol, i don’t even know.
I guess you could do little to argue all others, but the fun thing is that if you look at it, those are also the things that most people try to deny or avoid every single day. Maybe a part of giving up or being depressed is seeing those things as they are? who knows. Guess i should stop overthinking things for a while.
