i was reading today where Belgium gave the euthanasia green light to a healthy 24 year old woman who has been wanting to die since she was a kid. She claimed that life was just not for her. I can relate to that in so many ways. Euthanasia for the mentally ill is gaining ground in that great nation, I just wish it would gain the same kind of ground in the ole US of A.
I remember when Brittney Maynard was giving interviews about her right to die due to her terminal brain tumor. I was hoping that her message would spread to the nifty 50. Unfortunately, when she died, the movement seemed to die with it. No other state passed euthanasia laws since then. I think euthanasia should be seen as a privacy right, just like abortion is. I figured that if euthanasia would be legalized in all 50 states, especially if the Supreme Court ruled in favor of it instead of the religious fundamentalist voting to stop it, it would one day cover people like me and many of you with long suffering mental illness. Ugh maybe someday.
also I’m tired of people comparing the legalization of euthanasia to Nazi Germany’s euthanasia program. BIG difference there! In Nazi Germany they forced people to be euthanized who they deemed unfit for society. They did it in the name of eugenics and “racial hygiene”.
In the west, we want it in the name of CHOICE to END OUR SUFFERING! An entirely different agenda from the Nazis. If you wanna see modern concentration camps look at hospices where people are begging to die. I seen this one video done by Philip Nichske where he was interviewing this man dying from cancer. He said if he had a gun he would blow his brains out and begged for help. The patient/victims name was Max. The poor man suffered and suffered for days against his will in a modern concentration camp until he died.

It’s strange because the US isn’t doing it’s job to prevent gun violence. Does that mean it’s okay for your life to be ended by someone else, but not have the choice to end your own life?
I’m still on the fence on this euthanasia business but I do believe there are special cases that should be approved. If it’s depression that has only lasted a year I don’t think it would be a good idea, but five or more with multiple and severe mental illness, it should be looked into for approval. That’s just how I feel.
Good point. I thought there was at least gonna be an assault weapons ban after the Sandy Hook masscre. Society is strange. As for suicide for the terminally ill, I definatly see your point because some bouts of suicidal depression can be temporary. My depression, anxiety, and other disorders has been life long for me. The suicide part for about a decade. I think in my case, and many others, we should get the green light. I even talked to my psychiatrist about it just to get his opinion. He’s for it for terminally ill people but not for mentally ill. Ugh im gonna find a way to end it all some day. I just don’t want to go violently or painfully or in a way that will easily fail. If the only method avalible is violent but very very quick I’ll have to chose that method.
Aparently it’s been fought and rejected by the religious dogma and all parties of god in the states
i think dying in America is easy. didn’t they sell guns like candy? i wish i was American. nevertheless, neo Nazis “free will to die ” new discure has a problem right on it’s motto. as their is no such a thing called free will. their is a high chance your so Called “free will ” has been influenced by others, either directly or indirectly. in a matter of fact most people kill themselves because of this (bullying, intimidation etc. Google, Wikipedia has a greate article about bullying and intimidation ).
the other problem about this rule(euthanasia ) is, it can be abused, their are lot’s of ways to abuse it either as a group or individually. this rule can also be a huge bottleneck for people with disabilities that are trying to have a managable lifestyle,as it will diminish their sprites and also makes them a target of the rule abusers(this includes euthanasia company’s, since they may abuse the law for maximum profit. if you doubt this you are a fool. as well as people who are closed to them ).
so in my opnion america is right on this stance, and their gun law really makes things managable.
just dropping my few cents.
