I just heard this song for the first time in such a long time . It makes me sad . It reminds me so much of my mom. And I really wish she was here to of help me grow up and see my life and just be here with me . She’s gone forever . But this song also reminded me of the happiest time of my life when I was 15. This was my favorite song . I went to a Pink Floyd tribute concert the day after Christmas with all my friends and I was just so happy and carefree . Triggered so many flashbacks . And good memories . Hope you are all having a good day

Good song. Not as good as Comfortably Numb, IMHO, but quite appropriate for the post. Yep, parents are the ultimate paradox – they drive you crazy when they’re around, then you miss them like crazy when they’re gone. (lost my mom in ’06, dad in ’12)
I’m sorry to hear that. And yes that is also a great song
The holidays and related memories don’t help things, do they?
But that’s life. Life sux the big one, then we.die. Sooner the better.
This is about my favorite Pink Floyd song.
True story, I illustrated a book in high school with these lyrics and gave it to my best friend. She fell into substance abuse for years and there were times when I would call her up just to make sure she was still alive.
She’s 20 years sober now, and she still has the book I gave her. Amazing the things we keep even when we are living in sheer hell isn’t it?
Thank your for this memory. And may you have a good day as well.
I’m all over the map in listening to music tonight – Enya and Evanescence earlier, then Moody Blues. Now it’s been Tangerine Dream. Just came across an interesting variation on your song by TD over on YouTube. Not quite as good as the original, but definitely unique:

OH yeah that is definitely TD, wouldn’t miss that underlying bass beat anywhere.
If you prefer a more laid back version, also came across a video of Roger Waters and Eric Clapton doing it on stage, during what appears to be a telethon.

Wow.
Wow.
If you’re open to listening to whatever tonight, give this one a listen: www .youtube .com/watch?v=CiGf_P4U8pY
Might not be of your liking (and hyde is out of tone a lot in that one), but the song itself is beautiful.
This is such a sweet song. Sweet simple lyrics:
If one day I could bring you to a serene season
to the flowers blooming in the sky like snowflakes.
Wait… you can actually understand that as you listen to it or do you know the song before hand? if you do understand japanese to that degree, that’s awesome. That song kinda kills me internally, but seemed kinda fitting for today. It sort of reflects a particular time of my life in a scarily accurate way, and i obsessed for months in order to learn it because of that. I still have the line “kono mune wa kimi wo egakuyo” burned into my memory (and i’m guessing i’ll keep on feeling that for quite some time).
Nope, i’m not that good at Japanese, I’m really rusty. I looked up the lyrics while I was listening to it and was struck with how beautiful they were.
Look up these: pieces, jojoushi, my dear, my heart draws a dream. All by l’arc~en~ciel, beautiful lyrics too (i don’t relate to them that much, but i can appreciate the lyrics anyway).
Doesn’t sound like a bad song, but I don’t speak Japanese. Also the video locks up about halfway through.
Why the age rating? Racy content?
No idea… plays fine over here. Maybe your internet is racist? (lol, no, i really don’t know).
My internet got so bad yesterday that I called Time Warner Cable, so who the hell knows. Maybe they didn’t fix anything after all.
Heh i don’t even live in the us and i know that time warner cable kinda sucks, lol. Guess bad news spreads fast (but not if you have TWC).
Good song. Sorry she isn’t here with you.
