Health, Wealth or Happiness?

by bah

If you could only wish for one of those three, which would you choose and why?

Wealth- In an ideal world it would enable me to travel and pack my life full of experience, own my own home, pay my bills etc… financial comfort. Instead of whatever the hells happening now, I can’t live my life the way I want to right now, I know that much.

PhantomCitizen43 1/27/2016 - 2:41 pm

Id pick wealth. Because for one. I have never had it. I have never been wealthy. I have always been just getting by and Im freaking sick of just getting by and always having concerns over money. I would want to be wealthy and with that Happiness would surely follow. RIch people have a much better life then poor people.
thats the truth.

goodnightphoenix 1/27/2016 - 2:55 pm

legit happiness. the other two i can work towards. so far working toward happiness is a dead end

bah 1/27/2016 - 3:23 pm

Wow, I thought I’d be the only one to pick money but you guys agree too. I think health is the most important, but without money you cannot have health, and without health you cannot have happiness. So therefore, I would choose money. I am sick because I don’t have the resources to get better, and the reason I got sick in the first place, was lack of money!

Overture 1/27/2016 - 4:23 pm

They say money can’t solve your problems or buy happiness. Wrong!!! It definitely damn well helps at the very least!

Moneypenny 1/27/2016 - 6:24 pm

Happiness, hahaha, not criticising, but you are picking the medium (wealth) in search of the goal (happiness). But if you choose happiness it’s a better bet, isn’t it?

bah 1/27/2016 - 6:55 pm

No it isn’t, because I am already sick (which was a direct result of poverty btw). Being “happy” won’t heal me. I need money, resources that I do not have to get better. Also, you can’t be happy if you’re sick. I was most certainly happier before I had health issues that hinder my daily life.

Overture 1/27/2016 - 6:30 pm

Haha I get ya. I dunno, what worries me is rattling on till I’m 80 and not having any stories to tell. Bothers me more than achieving happiness. That said, I’ve been over the moon and actively suicidal at the same time so happiness is not my main goal. Depends on the day, I’ll probably have a completely different opinion tomorrow.

Moneypenny 1/27/2016 - 6:38 pm

Then you’ll get happiness traveling and living rare adventures, earning good money and getting a lot of stories to tell. It sounds romantic. šŸ™‚
And yes I know what you mean, I also change my mind all the time. (Not even from one day to the other) I am starting to fear I may have some pinch of bipolarism. But I am used to exaggerate with my fears.
Sorry, I am talking too much this days.

Overture 1/27/2016 - 6:46 pm

Haha no problem! Fuck I’ve wondered the same about myself. Seriously up and down, can be in seconds, hours, days, I just don’t know anymore. I’ve stopped trying to predict my mood. Its all over the place! Yeah, I still dream about going places. I’m not rich but I won a couple quid from the lotto so theres a start, just a few more pennies and I’m there.
I talk either too much or not at all. Can’t help myself sometimes…

If anyone would like to hand me a pile of money I would be willing to see if it can buy happiness.

bah 1/27/2016 - 6:56 pm

Sorry, all I have is monopoly money. Please let me know when you’ve got a money plant in your backyard, next to the chickens šŸ˜›

Hazy Day Sunflower 1/27/2016 - 6:58 pm

True story: when I was growing up the kook down the road told me he had a money tree in the back yard. I was four years old. I tore his entire back yard apart looking for it. Lesson learned kook, don’t tell a kid you have a money tree and not expect them to try to find it.

bah 1/27/2016 - 7:04 pm

lol what did he say to u after you messed up his whole yard?

bah 1/27/2016 - 6:57 pm

If only your hens would lay golden eggs, eh?

Hazy Day Sunflower 1/27/2016 - 6:59 pm

they do….delicious scrambled golden eggs. the yolk it this amazing shade of dark orange, almost read.

bah 1/27/2016 - 7:03 pm

Send me some šŸ™‚
Send us pics of the eggs

Hazy Day Sunflower 1/27/2016 - 7:53 pm

I’ll take a pic next time we are cooking eggs. They are magical. Blue shells and amazing orange yolks. Everyone should have back yard chickens.

On a sad note, if you do decide to own these lovely animals keep in mind they can carry avian flu and if one of your flock is tested positive, they will insist on culling the entire flock.

Hazy Day Sunflower 1/27/2016 - 7:54 pm

Culling is a nice term for murder. šŸ™

sadlife958 1/27/2016 - 10:02 pm

Impossible I had money nicely stacked yes it did help beingl lonely since I felt better than most ppl around me but it didn’t change my environment and the lonliness. That’s why I choose happiness I’d enjoy the real part in life

muspelhem 1/27/2016 - 7:50 pm

Happiness, then health, then wealth. I mean, happiness is THE goal, so why not pick it? Health is important for happiness and just allows you to do so much more. With happiness and health, wealth can be created. If I chose wealth, I might just spend it all stupidly.

I’m currently working shifts and not getting my sleep: detrimental to both health and happiness. I can tell you I would much rather be scraping by and getting my sleep than this.

Hazy Day Sunflower 1/27/2016 - 7:55 pm

So is your argument that if you are happy then health and wealth follows because these are factored into happiness?

Brilliant. Pick the one that the other two follow. I didn’t even think of that. It doesn’t say if you have one it excludes the other two, is just says pick one. Brilliant.

bah 1/27/2016 - 8:21 pm

Hm, I guess I would theoretically choose health if I could go back in time, to be 17 AND healthy again. I wouldn’t want to be healthy but “old” and poor…

Overture 1/27/2016 - 7:53 pm

I’m just working off the assumption that the money in infinite and I don’t have to work my ass off for it

bah 1/27/2016 - 8:12 pm

Yes, that is the assumption. Otherwise, working like a dog for money is obviously a bad choice.

bah 1/27/2016 - 8:18 pm

It’s like finding 3 magical genies, and they each say “choose me!”
(and no wishing for unlimited wishes lol)

Overture 1/27/2016 - 8:32 pm

True! And with money you could provide all the funding for any health related issue, if theres no cure yet. Ideally anyway

Mf 1/27/2016 - 8:28 pm

Health. I could always fight in order to get the other two later.

bah 1/27/2016 - 8:30 pm

Dangit, I wanna be greedy and have all 3. šŸ˜›

Overture 1/27/2016 - 8:33 pm

Haha well we’re all trying to work out how one will provide all 3! Guess it works all ways

bah 1/27/2016 - 10:01 pm

Okay, if we’re gonna go greedy, then might as well go greedy all the way and have unlimited wishes!! AND superpowers. YES. šŸ™‚

Overture 1/28/2016 - 4:52 am

I’d be more than happy with some superpowers!!!

<3 happiness! is our true nature…..
If you in earnest seek the source of the primal thought 'I' you can discover, directly, intimately, that you are the endless eternal presence
