I have come to the conclusion that life is some sick experimental scheme that we can curtail by refraining from reproduction . By walking hand in hand into the beautiful glare of oblivion and hence opting out of this Raw deal. Imagine the unfairness of yanking an innocent soul from the comfort of oblivion and casting it into this painful thresher called life. If you have Kids, love them. If you don’t have them, please just be kind enough not bring them into this sick world.

There is a theory that planet Earth is a prison camp. You can google all kinds of info on this topic.
That’s interesting. It sure feels that way.
And, there are some who believe that this life doesn’t actually exist and that we make up our own scenario, as if in a dream. A dream during our sleep time isn’t real, but we think it’s real during the dream. It’s only when we wake up that we know the dream wasn’t actually real. Maybe this life is a dream that I haven’t woken up from.
Probably a dream we wake up from when we die??
Our ‘being’ is making up all of our experiences in this current ‘life dream’.
So yes, when we die, we actually wake up from our ‘life dream’.
This concept was presented to me a few years ago, and while it’s difficult to grasp (and accept), I’m thinking more and more that it is indeed accurate. It doesn’t seem so ridiculous when compared to the other ridiculous notions of why we’re all going through the inane motions of ‘life’.
Thank God I never had kids. I don’t have concrete evidence, but I don’t think I’m capable of getting pregnant anyway.
I was watching some show last night where a couple was sleeping, the baby was crying on the monitor and the woman screamed at him “IT’S YOUR TURN!!” Why the hell would anyone want to put themselves through that? Marriage and babies that ruin your marriage and life. Giving birth looks unnatural, though it’s supposed to be. The baby comes out of a comfortable womb screaming and crying at the top of its lungs because life sucks and even a newborn realizes that.
They cry because they’ve been hurled into an uncaring void … absurd for sure
Poor child, has to grow up and realize how horrible life truly is. Children’s entertainment shows etc are an unrealistic representation of life. But its meant to be fun!!! Because its for children!!! Except that’s not true. That’s a ‘safety blanket’. Might as well just tell them how bad it really is in the first place before they get older and find out the hard way… Sorry to burst your bubble, life isn’t ‘happy people singing and dancing and caring’… Its nothing like that!!! Its horrible
I never want children, the world is overpopulated, and its not good to bring children into a horrible world
Babies are much happier inside the womb i think 😉
Not interested in life … Life is predominantly negative. The bad always outweighs the good …

Thank you for the link. Let me check it out
Have you read the book ‘Better Never to Have Been’ by David Benatar? It’s a very convincing philosophical argument against having kids, among other things. I believe the title comes from a Schopenhauer quote.
Sounds like quite an interesting book. I’ll consider reading the book. I found this:
Critical Study – Princeton University
David Benatar
Better Never To Have Been: The Harm of Coming into Existence
Benatar has two independent lines of argument for his conclusion; he is
explicit that they are independent, and that the second does not rely on the
first.
The first is an argument for this view:
First View: By bringing someone into existence, one harms her by causing all
the bad aspects of her life. By bringing someone into existence, one does not
benefit her at all by causing the good aspects of her life.
The second line of argument involves arguing for this view:
Second View: Taking into account both the good and the bad aspects of a
person’s life, most lives are overall very bad and not worth having.
Ooh @Werther I know that book, it inspired this post coz I firmly believe in Antinatalism as a concrete philosophy. David Benatar is brilliantly presented his arguments in that book.
@StayOrGo I have read that critical study. The author was trying to rebut David Benatars arguments systematically. I haven’t had time to fully absorb it though.
Life is a nightmare… Yet I am uninterested in life and have to put up with it, I have other nightmares just to wake up into this one. I think these extra nightmares are certain that i want to die…???
Schopenhauer has it completely bang on in my humbled opinion. Something I’ve thought about for many many years. Pure and utter pointlessness only to return to the peaceful void when we die after a lifetime of strife.
