O___O I actually thought I was the only one who experienced moments like this. I didn’t even know what they were called but “memory scent” fits. It tends to happen in warmer weather for me.
I agree with Moneypenny, this was beautiful. π Thank you for sharing this moment with us.
Thank you for sharing this delightful memory. I am highly scent sensitive. But rarely do βsmellsβ elicit memories. My keen sense of smell is more In The Moment.
A recent example is the intense and marvelous scent of hyacinth blooms. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a small hyacinth plant to put in my bathroom so that I could watch as the blooms unfolded and enjoy the glorious scent. I do this every year during bulb season.
After a few days on my bathroom countertop, I noticed ants around this plant pot, just as the blooms were opening. Outside it wentβ¦ on my front patio next to a trellis by my front door. EVERY day as I come and go, I pause to bend my head over to take a long whiff of the wonderful scent. Itβs quite amazing that a tiny plant can pack so much wallop in emitting a scent that is splendid.
Really cool post, I love how this works. For me its the fastest thing I know and it happens fairly frequently even though my sense of smell isnt great.
Ahh the thoughts alone now… coal fires…pine…rain in teh mountains….gah its all wonderful. Thank you so much π
