For years I haven’t slept well – I rarely sleep and when I try most nights I seem to wake up after an hour or so and I don’t really know how to explain it but feel really uneasy, like this deep restless and aching in my chest, my heart feels like it’s trying to burst out. It’s a bit like I’m suffocating and I can’t move. Just wondering if anyone else gets like this? I don’t really know why it keeps happening but im starting to feel the effects really badly because of it.

are you ok? merry christmas…
Yes thank you I’m okay, it’s been like this since I was 16 so it’s nothing new. I just thought I would ask around to see if anyone else has experienced it though haha. Merry Christmas to you too!
Yup, been there several times. It could be several things tbh, anything from stress, to a neurological disorder, to depression (which goes along with anxiety), even an hormonal disorder. In my case it has been mostly due depression, stress and thyroid disease. Not all of them happened at the same time, but it was always the same = sleep an hour tops, wake up feeling like crap, rinse and repeat a million times. Having been there… yeah, try to pinpoint the causes, because in the long run it just burns you out until you collapse (been there too).
Thank you for replying! Ahh that’s not good at all. Are you okay now though?!
I will definitely try to pinpoint but I’ve been trying for a while now, I’ll get there eventually, hopefully!
Yeah, it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact cause, specially because it tends to change (it does for me, between depression and stress, or both, lol). Thanks for asking, i’m was actually doing a bit better but you know… christmas, bad time of the year in many ways, but i’m hoping it’s somewhat better after the holidays. Something that has (somewhat) worked for me is taking sleeping pills but not every night, just only when it’s been several days. For some reason when i do that my sleeping cycle fixes on some days without the pills…not a real solution but hey, it gets me by.
I don’t sleep well either. Have some of the same symptoms. I can be dragging ass tired, lay down and eyes wide open. Or, I fall asleep, wake up in an hour or two and can’t fall back asleep. Sometimes I will sleep, but not the good kind. I seem to be a constant state of tired any more. This has been going on for a few years now. So you are not alone in the quest for rest…
Awww Yes it’s exactly like that, it’s horrible isn’t it?! And I’m just a bit concerned that I’m meant to be up in 3 hours, so tired yet it doesn’t seem like sleep is anywhere nearby!
Anxiety for the win……..
