Yeah, Lifelover is a classic. Kim Carlsson one of the members of that band and many other DSBM side projects (Hypothermia, Life is Pain, Kyla). Hes really talented.
That’s pretty niche as metal subgenres go, but a few of those names look familiar from my spotify recommendations. I’ve definitely found a lot of catharsis from listening to death/doom/gothic/other genres of metal over the years. There is indeed a lot of beauty to be found within “depressing” music.
Would particularly recommend “Shape of Despair” if you’re looking to really immerse yourself in bleakness for a while. Also “The Moth Gatherer”, and “Forest of Shadows”.
