I am extremely curious as to how that happened. I can’t even run my hand over a 2×4 without knowing, at that instant, the number, length, and exact location of every splinter I received. Haha. How in the world did you even…Wow, that’s metal as hell, Alan.
I don’t recommend allowing infection though. Slow, painful. No garuntee, and you could just wind up losing a single limb.
Yeah, thing is. I wear Carhart boots. They’re pretty heavy duty. Steel toe/ steel shank. I didn’t feel any rubbing. I wear extra padding Dickie’s work socks. Didn’t drop anything on my foot. Yet when I took my boots off this morning, the top of my sock was soaked in blood. It’s a strip about half inch wide by 3 inches long. On the top of my foot. It’s about 1/8 of an inch deep. Weird part, I couldn’t find any skin anywhere. It’s just gone. Wasn’t flopping there, wasn’t in my sock. Looks like I hit it with a potato peeler. So where’s the skin? I got ointment and bandages. It hurts like hell since I’ve seen it….
Isn’t that stupid? Feel nothing, see blood, get concerned, find wound, now it hurts. WTF?
Haha. There’s gotta be some legit neurological reasoning for that, but I am way too tired to look it up. For now, I’m just gonna chalk it up to aliens. Really tiny aliens.
Anyway, I’m really sorry Alan. Hell, I LIKE pain, and the thought of that wound makes me wince, hard. It’s awesome that you dressed it already, but just make sure you let it breathe every now and again. Ointment is great, but it shouldn’t be constantly moist. Dry it every now and then or it’ll breed tiny-alien mushrooms.
You probably already know this stuff. So why am I telling you? Ugh, I’m sorry.
It’s not THAT bad. Though, I suppose those images didn’t just appear one day. That’s the thing about google for ailment, it never shows “stage 1” it’s always here is the most extreme grotesque example we could find.
I’m a homeopathic guru lol. So, I’ll get a grip this weekend. It’s a very sharp stabby pain. I will make a foot soak with tea tree oil this weekend. It’s anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial. Covers it all. I’ve even seen it knock out MRSA in 5 days. Anyways, really looks like jigsaw puzzle.
My guess is maybe your socks or shoes rubbed up against your foot. I know from morbid curiosity that it is possible to rub off healthy skin with fingers. Maybe clothing can do it too?

Fish is right. You’ll just be down a limb. Are you diabetic?
Nope no diabeetus here

“Wow, that looks BAD.
…
OH SHIT, THAT LOOKS BAD!”
It must be aliens. I been googling possible explanations and nothing
They harvested a piece of you to conduct tests.
The only question is, what kind of tests??? 0-8
Probably clone me. The universe needs more me
Ouch.
Maybe the reason you didn’t find a flesh strip is because the foot cracked open, and the two seams split apart…? (?)
I’ve considered that, but it doesn’t look split, it looks skinned. Like a fillet
In that case, I’m going with the “tiny aliens” theory.
“Maybe I should just let it get infected and kill me.” .. such a vintage way to go
I hope it’s not necrotizing fasciitis.

Cordless, why oh why did I check before eating?

I hate to say it, but that would explain why you never found a strip of flesh.
It could have gotten eaten away.
Keep an eye (or two) on this, because if it IS necrotizing fasciitis, it can spread quickly and get really bad.
Yeah. I’m trying to figure it out. I’m on a break right now so letting it air. Painful as all hell. Like almost feel sick. Probably going to die.

The one time I tried tea-tree-oil, I ended up developing severe cellulitis and had to be on strong intravenous antibiotics for three days.
But if it works for you, yay. 😮

F^*ck, it hurts me just to see it.
:/
The infection shit ain’t going to happen. Take care of that >:[
