To me, a mirage of salvation from this mental jail-cell in its truest form is when I begin to feel in control at a time, place and state that once felt intractable
The notion that we have control over everything always is illusory, but no more so than the notion that we have no control over anything ever. A boss I once had, long ago, had the alcoholic’s creed on his wall, in which I found wisdom. Forgive me because I forever misquote it and am too lazy to look it up, but it contains the words:
“God give me the wisdom to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference. ”
It’s not an illusion that you can change some things within the scope of your ability and circumstance.

But you do know what control feels like. That’s a positive thing.
I guess i’m looking at the situation in a negative perspective
