Okay, let me state the obvious. I am a screw up. Can’t get any simpler than that. So tonight, when my dad asked what I wanted for dinner I said, “What does it matter? You’ll make what you want. We always have the same thing.” His response? “DAMMIT ALEXIS, WHY DON’T YOU GO SHOPPING WITH NO MONEY AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN GET!” I said nothing and fell back into staring at Facebook. My dad yells at me so fucking much, and I hate it. He knows I hate it. I guess some people can never changed…just like some people aren’t trustworthy.

Wow, I can relate to that. Sounds like the same conversation (if you can call it that) I’ve had with my mom a few times…
*gasp* i hate getting yell at too e. e. Makes me wonder why im still even here anymore. btw my name ish alexis too n. n
i know i’m new here, and will be generally ignored by the masses.
however, as a poor 20 year old kid who grew up in a with a mother who was pilled out all day and hated to cook/eat, thusly leaving her children to eat whatever we could find, i understand that conversation.
but, now today, because of that childhood, i know how to cook reasonably well. because i never wanted to go hungry again, or eat shit food. my advice: get off facebook, nothing interesting actually happens there. while on the internet, look up cooking recipes. or do what i did: look at what you have in the fridge, and play: “what the hell can i make?” that’s how i learned how to cook; and i am in the midst of paying off school loans, medical bills, rent/utilities, car payments, everyday life, while working a 30 hour 8$/h job.
so yeah. just….you know….go cook for yourself. you’d be surprised what good food you can make when you are bored.
and if it comes out terrible, well, hunger IS the best spice.
