I found this site because I have been feeling super down lately and I needed somewhere with like-minded people who I could relate to, and who could understand me. This site seems like a decent place so I’m glad I found it =]
Anyway, I don’t feel like saying much about myself at the moment, but there I have a belief about suicide that I’d like to throw out there.
A lot of people who get depressed because of life circumstances, or because they are biologically predisposed to it, eventually consider killing themselves. I think this is wrong decision like 90% of the time, and the reason why is because that our problems are seldom incorrigible. People who are down because they went through a break-up, or can’t find a job, or because they are alone can usually* find a way out of these problems, and people who have natural brain chemistry problems can take anti-depressants if it gets too bad. There are some people, of course, who can’t fix their problems:Â people who are suffering from terminal diseases, for instance, and people who are too old to “start over” (probably why so many seniors go through with suicide).
Most of the time though, I think it’s very possible to not only avoid suicide, but to get your life to a point where you are happy with it generally. The key thing for success that most people need and don’t get is a good support system–an understanding and helpful family, friends who know you well and will stick by you, and, when necessary, therapists or support groups to give guidance. Sadly, many people lack these ingredients: their families are disinterested or ignorant about their troubles, their friends are only of the casual variety, and they can’t afford or don’t feel like going through the trouble of finding a therapist. This is when things usually end up going badly :/
I just want to encourage everyone here to try and reach out to a trusted friend or family member, and if you don’t have these things, at least try to find a competent therapist–they do exist. that’s all for now~

Described me perfectly.
Well, what do you think about Nihilism? You can’t cure this no matter how hard you try. Nihilism, Existentialism, Absurdism. Some things are just irreparable.
very well said, i applaud you 🙂
Nihilism isn’t always something that can’t be fixed, but if a person’s problems are existential in nature, then that would fall under the same category of people with terminal illnesses, IMO. Then again, it’s always possible to change your views on things, which would make those kind of problems disappear. That’s easier said than done though.
Can existentialism nihilism be proven incorrect?
even a quick google search return with these two quite interesting common speculations on it, you might find this quite interesting to take a look:

I have just posted some links/urls, and it got pending (as usual of this website), so you might want to wait for around 1 day, or just take a look at your Dashboard (like when you want to post a New topic), and just look at my comment there.
Basically, even though it might at first sounds very “logical”, nihilism itself is not a permanent and most ‘objective’ state,
it has through ages & time got refuted, debatable, just like many other things.
it’s one of many worldviews out there, so there’s always sort of a ‘loophole’ you can find to basically change your view against it.
it’s just basically up to you to whether accept or reject it.
Is this site for giving long long speachs on suicide.
Please only do share ur personal experience not any speach. Sorry if i hurted u.
