so lately my friends have been noticing my scars from cutting and theyre questioning it. theyre always talking about how stupid cutting is and how depressed people are crazy and need to be in a mental hospital so i cant tell them the truth about the scars so i need some good excuses, i ve been using “my cat attacked me” story but its not working that well anymore since thats what i always say so any excuses i could use???

How about stop cutting in areas that people can see, or stop cutting all together. The fact that you cut in areas that people can notice just makes it seem like you do it for attention.
I used that excuse once. there isn’t a whole lot of excuses I can think of. if your cuts are on your wrists, then I would wear long sleeves. but other than that I can’t think of any….and depressed people are not crazy. try to get better support; counseling maybe.
I always told people that i had a rampant obsession with bowling, or that i got hit by a baseball…then again i was never a terribly serious person.
There really is no excuse people will believe unless you only have one or two scars. Just tell them it was your cat and change the subject. They won’t believe you, but it will get them to shut up.
There is no excuse that will satisfy your friends. I’ve been questioned about my scars aswell and I become very agitated when I’m constantly being asked.
I agree that you should find a different place that is less visible like your legs, or stop cutting even though it is tough to do so. the thing is some scars may never fade and you might regret them in the future. everytime I look at my wrists its a constant reminder of the pain I went through at that time and now I am totally self contious and embarrassed about them. Just ask yourself if it is worth it
Personally, I wear a zip-up hoodie everyday. The sleeves hide my arms and it does not make me too hot. Also allows me to wear short sleeve shirts. But if a jacket or hoddie is not an option, find a new place to cut.
Braclet – Too obvious.
Watch – Good and you can get away with always wearing a watch. You may look like a control freak but no psycho
Sweaters – I love sweaters and many people have them all the time. Less obvious than braclets all the time on one spot.
Make up – Works.
Gloves – If you feel like it.
Now to this problem this day; You have a hobby.
You have to have one.
Ice skating or scrap booking and something happened.
You been to the doctor about it and they said something.
You make up the rest.
But letting a bandage be there for like a few days and then taking it off and putting on make up perfectly and have some discrete show off on how normal it is and returning to normal.
Tell me how it goes.
They don’t sound to fantastic so if it does not work, not too much of a big deal.
