Regardless of what you do in this life you will go to a place after death that is 1000 times more real vibrant and wonderful than our current life. However we are here for a reason. This is not a competition regardless of what you do in this life you will go home to where you were before you were born and where you will be after your time here is done. You can do NO wrong in this life and are loved and cherished forever. You are a miracle of god, and whether you realize it or not, what makes this earthly physical realm so difficult is the illusion that we are separate from god. He is always here. The universe IS defined by LOVE. The place he has ready for you and me and every person on earth is so wonderful us earthly beings cannot
Fathom it. So I just wanted to let you know that whether you decide to take your own life or stay and continue your journey, either way you are loved deeply and cherished forever by the creator whom we are all connected to. We are a part of god.

Thanks for the reminder Pete. The Suicide Project is about more than suicide, it’s really about life. I think that’s why we’re all here, and why we’re all still here.
Agreed
Thanks for the reminder. it is just that, I can’t help wondering why I am being placed to go through periodical tests and challenges in life. People say these challenges make you a stronger and better person. But I see it as if we are all gladiators in the field for the amusement of God’s entertainment. Why should I be part of a game and strive to succeed when I don’t feel I have much to gain from the system, designed by God? I just don’t feel like I chose this life voluntarily at all.
I’m not sure what you mean by the following statements?
– We are here for a reason
– The universe IS defined by LOVE
People make these statements all the time when attempting to be comforting but they don’t as they don’t mean anything. Statements that if explored at any depth lead to more questions, paradox and eventually the absurd.
We don’t get to know the reason we are here and by reason I assume you mean purpose. (The reason I am here is that my parents had sex)
Is suffering a purpose, if so how are we defining love?
It’s difficult to reconcile our general concept of love with “the universe defined by Loveâ€
Life has a horrific aspect, life requires life, something must die so that I live and some day it will be my turn to die.
I appreciate your intention to comfort however in my experience telling someone who’s not feeling so great about life, that they are here for a reason, and that the universe is love probably won’t get a good response.
I’m not saying I know all the answers, I am simply applying my knowledge of my religion and faith, it is okay to be skeptical. You should read on up on some ndes (near death experiences) where people where clinically dead
, ( no brain activity and no pulse) and yet they come back reporting that death is not the end of our existence. The ore realm they visit is heaven, very similar to that described by Jesus in the bible.
That’s very wise.
itsokay i’ve read alot about NDE experience’s out-of-body experiences or encounters with dead relatives are tricks of the mind rather than a glimpse of the afterlife.
abnormal amount of dopamine being released into the body when in crisis. The neurochemical evoke hallucinations and can often result in vivid “visions†of the deceased.
studies we examined show that many of the people experiencing a near-death experience were not actually in danger of dying, although most thought they were.
looking down on your own body, or out of body experiences sam parnia study. At 18 hospitals in the U.S. and U.K., researchers have suspended pictures, face up, from the ceilings in emergency-care areas. The reason: to test whether patients brought back to life after cardiac arrest can recall seeing the images during an out-of-body experience.
People who have these near-death experiences often describe leaving their bodies and watching themselves being resuscitated from above, but verifying such accounts is difficult. So parnia set pictures what were very big. The pictures could only been seen from above or like looking down. The images would be visible only from above. 1,500 resuscitated patients. 12 percent said they had a NED 8 percent say they were looking down at there body’s. And could see the doctor’s. Nobody saw the pictures.
Hi Itsokay. I understand what you’re trying to say about the afterlife. Some people call it ‘heaven’, some call it the ‘afterlife’ and others call it the ‘astral world.’ There has to be something waiting for us after we pass away. My only concern is that on a web form like suicide project, where the majority of people here are depressed and suicidal, posting that a better life awaits may inadvertedly encourage more suicides.
My belief is that we are here for a reason, and that reason is simply not because our parents chose to have sex and conceived us. There are things that we have to experience in this life, some good and some bad, and challenges that we have to overcome and grow from. After all, if life were perfect, we really wouldn’t learn anything. Some suffering may help us grow, but I agree that there is a limit to what a person can handle.
Here-here, Otherworldliness!
Well put, Left22!
Pete- do you relize how much of an impact this made on my life as well as others? Thank you so much for this reminder! I wish people told ms things like this daily! You are amazing! Thanks for posting such an inspirational reminder to everyone.
Love, Julia
I donn’t believe in any of that…
I don’t believe in near death experiences because when the brain stops working, you’re dead. That’s it. Gone. So when people claim things, it’s because when they’ve woken up, their now working brains hallucinate those things, tricking them into thinking they saw what they think they saw in an apparent afterlife. If there is one, they won’t be able to tell us because they’ll be dead. So what I’m trying to say is that the supposed afterlife they see in a NDE, isn’t the actual one they’ll go to, if indeed one exists. If an afterlife exists, the only way we’ll know about it is if we die and never come back, since if we did we’d forget it and hallucinate, instead of beinng able to say what actually happened. I think this is all a load of crap anyway.
