Also, protip: threatening to kill yourself isn’t going to work to your advantage. Suicidal ultimatums almost always result in something other than what you want. For whatever reasons, suicidal ultimatums tend to make people want to “call your bluff,” and some will even respond antagonistically and try to egg you on into doing it.

Only you can walk in your shoes. Maybe they have no way to be anything but oblivious to things that only you can experience, because only you can be you. Maybe no one ever ‘really’ understands; we’re just trained to show that we do, and to expect others to do the same. We should probably all strive to unlearn those conventions and expectations.
