I am on the track team. At a meet, we are only allowed to run in 4 events. I run in five or as many as my coach will let me.
Most people think about winning while they are running. I think about weight loss.
I can’t walk after I run. My legs won’t work right. I stumble around and try to regain my coordination. I can barely stand but I refuse to let myself sit down due to the fact that if after you run, you sit, your legs tighten up and it makes it difficult to run again. the faster you run, the more weight you lose, right? I can’t run fast if my legs are tight.
Between events, I practice. Hard. I need a flat stomach and a thigh gap. 200 sit ups daily. a mile or two a day. I will lose this weight somehow.
I don’t eat a whole lot. When I do, it’s oranges and bananas and apples.
i  have a history of bulimia.
I will keep running until I physically can’t. Right now I am 103 pounds. My goal is 95 for now. And I will get there. Or I’ll die trying.

I think thigh gaps are not pretty. Not at all. How old are you, Miss Katelynn? If you don’t mind me asking.
I am 13 and 5″3
Be careful. Bodies need nutrients… especially if you’re pushing that body to its upper limits. If you have a history of bulimia, now might be a good time to reach out to someone and get their advice. You didn’t mention your height but I envision your BMI is on the low end of low… Reach out, Katelynn.
Underweight BMI = <18.5 — Your BMI = 18.2
At 5'03" and 103lb, you're already underweight. You really should speak with someone.
I’ve never liked professional help. And my friends just kinda run away if I start talking about these things. That’s why I came back to this website. People understand here.
I agree with you about this site. It has been a help to me in several respects. I’m sorry about your friends… 🙁 Maybe there is a bulimia support forum online that can help you with that?
I’ll definitely look into that.
You are not your body. The body is something we use to get around and say “Hi”, but it’s not YOU. If you want your body to be 95lbs there are going to be many not so happy challenges to live with. It’s like trying to run a car with very little oil and gas. It’ll run for a while, but sooner or later it’s gonna break. It wasn’t made to be run that way. Same with your body. It’s important to drive your body with care and take care of it if you want it to last a while. You’ll see, if you get to your 95lbs goal.
Darling, your body is not done growing yet. Not until you are almost 30..
Your exercise routine is fantastic – it will ensure that your body grows strong and well built. But not if you withhold nutrients.. Now’s the time to eat right! Trust me, you do NOT want to stunt your growth and remain as you are – a petite, slim, tiny 5’3″ girl. You know what happens to them? They get shoved in the corner in the packed elevator at work every morning, and every time it happens they wish they were taller, bigger, muscular.
The whole body image thing is a matter of fashion. And fashion changes.. by the time you hit 20 anorexic girls will no longer be considered beautiful (it’s changing already). I think the new trend is gearing towards more muscular, well formed bodies, the walking sticks fashion is more and more getting left behind.
You should consult a doctor about your exhaustion after training and events – could be due to magnesium or other deficiency (i.e. easily correctable)
“The body is something we use to get around and say “Hi” but it’s not you.”
Wait. What?
The assumption that you “soul” is separate from your body is an idea which has never been proven. When have you ever been away from your body? never.
That’s not going to change. The illusion of escaping your body at death is such a wrench on reality. But use whatever makes your mind twinkle.
Should the number 95 really define who you are?
After all its just a number.
If you’re a stand out athlete in a team sport, the powers that be retire your # to show how significant your contributions were.
But the other numbers don’t mean much.
I think about zombies when I run…or an angry Sergeant hounding me as I hit yet another hill. Either way, it encourages me to do my best and stay a fair distance away from both. Have you ever thought about wind sprints? They’d be ideal for what you want to achieve with significantly less effort/distance. It’s also why all those Jerk Chicken eating pon de track Jamaicans are all ripped.
…well, if you’re going to lose weight, you may as well replace it with lean muscle? A diet of fruits won’t help much. Keep up your water intake and ensure that with what little you eat, your body is still getting all that goodness it needs. My bulimic days still troll me from time to time and like you this is one battle I need to fight on my own.
Best of luck to you, may you find a way for’d.
