I always say things I shouldnt and I always mess things up so im just gonna stop talking to people then I cant mess anything up because there is nothing to mess up and ill be alone anyway so no one to hurt when I die
Saying things you shouldn’t is part of the process of learning how to talk to others. I know that sounds stupid, but I mean you’ll learn from your mistakes and be less likely to make them in the future. Most people will accept a heartfelt apology if things do go badly. I say stupid stuff a lot too, but it’s just not worth getting yourself down over. You need people to talk to so please don’t give up.
If it makes you feel better, I agonize over stupid things I’ve done and said to the point that I enter full-on panic. You know what? I still do, but it helps me to remember that other people really don’t dwell on what others say or do–other people are more concerned with their own problems to really give a damn about what you’ve said or done. Maybe it’s good that people are so self-centered. It means that our mistakes really aren’t as bad as we think.
