If Love is the problem
You just need to find a new love
If Money is the problem
You just have to make more money
If Other people is the problem
You just have to find new people to hang out with
If past mistake is the problem
You just have to disregard it
If Sadness is the problem
You just need to be happy
So all these problems have alternative solution. It might not be easy but there are possiblity, however slim, to fix these situations.
There’re examples of people who find love again even at old age
There’re examples of people who have nothing and become very wealthy
There’re examples of people who made a mistake and become successful
and even depress person can have a good day
I hope this give someone a different perspective on their situation.
To kill yourself because of those reason seems to be short-sighted. I’m not trying to belittle anyone’s reason.
I just want to show that there’re solutions for these problems but you’ll have to figure out the “HOW” to reach those solutions, and that’s the hard part.
I am guilty of being short-sighted as well. Years after a failed attempt, I found out that there’re still people out there that can still invoke love from within me. (even if it were unrequited it still shows me that there’re still a possibility)
Now the only reason that I dont have a solution to is: if you want to die because life is meaningless and futile.
And that’s why I’m back here in this state of mind again.
Where I am now is best summed up in the movie “Sunset Limited”

meaningless and pointless life is for me
There are examples of loving couples who divorce, of rich people who lose all their wealth, of people whose success is destroyed by a single mistake and of happy people who become depressed and suicidal.
i know and that’s exactly why one should not be hopeless and think that those situation will remain the same. those things can change on any given day.
Only one single truth will remain constant and that is “Life is futile”.
I know you mean well in this post, so I am loathe to criticize you –BUT—
One does not get this far in the thinking to be turned around by some cliché off of a calendar.
Does the term ‘tone-deaf’ resonate with you?
I know this wealthy woman (not a friend, a client of the company I work for) and she has all these vacuous affirmations painted on the wooden steps going to the upper level of her house.
“reconnect with an old friend”
“keep family close”
“Collect memories, not things”
Gag me with an F-ing spoon!
This woman has such an empty life and she has a house on the lake large enough to have a horse show in. She is just a shallow, pointless blob of ***. Her own sister, whose mortgage she pays said “I wish I didn’t need the help so I could tell her what I think of her and never talk to her again.” (now the sister’s issues are a matter for another day)
So the care-taker and I were joking about sneaking in one day and changing one of the slogans to something crude, like:
“Fist your anus until you have a prolapsed colon as big as an elephants shlong”
and see how long it is before she notices it.
I think I digressed a little, but maybe you get my point?
I understand. It’s hard to follow through with the concept. but the point is that if that woman wanted too, she could really try to make her life less shallow by following the cliche she can really believe in.
Good movie. Good scene. Though it may not help in the long-term, I have found taking pleasure in the moment to be helpful.
My thinking matches White character about 85%
i thought my reason for being suicidal was original but turned out not to be so.
Indeed it didn’t help because in the end Black could not come up with a counter argument for White.
I agree about enjoying the moment, it kinda help me forget that all of this are pointless.
I wish i could go back to be ignorance about it.
But i guess i’m like Cypher in the Matrix, i can no longer enjoy the steak because of my knowledge.
“oh, you just need to manifest on your own, what requires the permission of others, to achieve.”
It’s “that simple,” right?
Lol.
I could say the same for your “because life is meaningless” problem: that problem is completely irrelevant. You can create meaning, and it is not “futile” to give yourself enjoyable experiences, merely for the sake of enjoying them, while you are alive with the opportunity to do so.
Almost all problems can be attributed to “people making choices,” and “lack of access to solutions.” There are more categories, but those are the 2 big ones.
Figure out how to control the choices of others (specifically, to prevent needlessly detrimental choices), and how to ensure access to all necessary solutions (and further, to prevent the need for most of those often unavailable solutions), and you’ll have fixed the majority of the world.
The problem is me. Even after new beginnings… I am the root. There is meaning to life, lots of it. That is not the problem… The only person you can control is yourself.
