…Charlie Chow Mein. His fees are reasonable…some daily catnip and treats. And food. Lots of food. Fresh water. Belly rubs. Ear rubs. Toys. A $300 cat post(ikr! It was on sale for half price) that reaches the ceiling and takes up most my living room. Attention whenever he wants it. And I have to share my food. He likes deli meat, vegetable crackers and coconut flavoured yogurt. So worth it though. He keeps all my secrets, lets me cry all over him, he feels nice to hug, I feel like he judges me but still loves me anyways. What psychiatrist is gonna offer all that for such a low rate?!
Seriously though my pets definitely have improved my quality of life. I smile and laugh more. Feel more relaxed. When I get upset I just cuddle one or take a dog for a walk. It helps immensely.
Anyone else notice how animals help them with their depression and such?

This is the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen!!! And yes, my two guinea pigs and my horse (who I recently had to put down 🙁 …) are definitely the best therapists I have ever had! They never judge and always love you no matter what!! I don’t know what I’d do without animals…
I have a guinea pig too! Aren’t they awesome? Love the little “popcorn dance” they do. My little guy, Cowboy Louie (yes he has a cowboy hat that he graciously wears for photo ops) is a great friend. Makes me giggle like a little girl watching his silly antics. Sorry about your loss. I had a horse too and they are amazing animals.
Yes!! I love my two guinea pigs. They are too adorable when they popcorn (and when they whistle for treats 🙂 ). How does having a cat and a guinea pig work out? I’ve always wanted to get a cat, but I’m too afraid that the cat will try to hunt the guinea pigs haha. And I love the name Cowboy Louie…too cute! I’ve always wanted to get a little party hat for my two, but I know they would never stand for it, and they’d probably end up eating it 😀
My cats don’t bother Louie when he is in his cage. When he is out I confine the cats to another room. Louie dislikes change though and hates coming out. I had other guinea pigs that came out all the time and a couple I even walked on leashes but Louie just shows fear and wants to stay in his home. He has a giant cage with lots to do though but as a senior he just sleeps a lot these days. What did you name yours?
Daisy and Georgia. Georgia is adventurous and loves coming out of her cage. Daisy is the complete opposite haha. She hates being pet and basically just whistles all day for food. Although I’m pretty sure she’s older than Georgia is, so I don’t blame her for being grumpy 🙂 But I’m glad your cats leave Louie alone. That’s good to know that it is possible to get a cat with guinea pigs 😀
Love their names! I know what you mean about whistling, Louie knows the sound of the fridge opening and he knows his veggies are kept in there so he whistles everytime I open it lol. I have had other cats and guinea pigs and never had a problem with them fighting.
🙂
