We’re all going to die anyway

It’s always the people that want to live that end up getting terminal cancer or hit by a bus or stranded in a house fire. Those of us that want to die, if we never commit suicide, we will be the ones living miserably into our late 90s. We’ll be the ones to outlive our friends, our spouses, even our children. It doesn’t make sense. We should get to have our misery cut short if we don’t want to live anymore. Cancer on demand… nobody would blame us for our deaths. Those that are happy and capable of dealing with this stupid world should live the long lives they so desperately desire. Those that embrace yoga and veganism and all this other life-enhancing or live-preserving BS should reap the rewards for their hard work. Leave the dying to those that actually want to die. Suicide wouldn’t exist in a world like that. But, we live in a world where people often have to take death in their own hands, and the consequences of failing can be so ugly. The consequences of succeeding are ugly too, but are only felt by anyone who cares even a little about you. Unless you are truly alone in the universe, suicide is never totally painless. Those that can accept this happening to their loved ones often choose foolproof methods, no chance of failing. If you’re bold enough, you do it. Those that want to die but are scared of death for one reason or another will choose methods that may or may not work, and often end up really sick or impaired. Or if you feel you’re the type that can fight whatever it is that makes you want to die, you can swallow the antidepressants and talk to therapists and be able to feel better, then by all means, do that. You won’t need to come here anymore. Actually, if people always either just ended it or dealt with their sadness and kept living, this site wouldn’t exist anymore.
