Thats really down to individual beliefs, surely that question can wait a few more years first. I was on the verge of suicide just a few days ago but instead I sent out a cry for help. Because the question is even in the darkest of times how can we be sure things won’t get better
Obviously no one of us can tell you for sure but I did a lot of research when I was younger and I believe that on the other side you are filled with peace and unconditional love. I believe that after resting you have the the choice to reincarnate or not. If you are interested in the topic a good place to start is reading about near death experiences. Many people report similar events. Good luck. May you find peace.
Hate to disappoint you but there’s no afterlife. You’re asking a scientific question and non-scientists, people who have absolutely no knowledge of these things will offer their conjectures but they’re completely clueless and they know it but won’t admit it to themselves.
If there was such a thing as an afterlife/another realm, science would be the first to discover it. Based on our greatest minds and advanced instruments, we’ve never detected “souls” leaving bodies, nor alternate realms beyond our physical universe…which means they don’t exist.
Everything we observe is all there is, unless new evidence emerges to prove otherwise. Trust me, a goat-herder from the Bronze Age who wrote some ‘holy book’ would never be privy to any deeper understanding of our universe than the greatest scientists of our age.
And if you read their holy books, you’d get a great laugh over how infantile their understanding of reality was. An 8 yr old today has a better grasp of our universe than the brightest minds from the Dark Ages did. Heck if there actually was a paradise that existed beyond the here and now, we’d all be clamoring for ways to get there.
Think of the billions of years you didn’t exist before you were born-where were you? Then where will you go after you cease to exist?
Hmmm, good question. Unfortunately we will never really know until we die.
So many religions believe different things. I don’t think anything has ever really been proven but there are certain things that you do hear about that seen to be very believable, like as mentioned near death experiences or children that fully remember past lives even to the point of speaking a completely different language and naming the place they came from.
How could a child make that up.
When my father was dying he was unconscious so the only way I could connect with him was on an energy level like in a meditation. Anyway I told him it was ok to leave and it was like I sort of held his hand as he crossed over (or left) but I got a glimpse of where he was going. Well not a visual glimpse because I can’t visualise anything but I felt the energy of the place, whether you call it heaven or the after life and it was the most amazing feeling I had ever felt.
It was the strongest and purest love you could imagine and the purest and brightest joy and peace you can imagine and then you still wouldn’t even get the full grasp of it.
My mother and other members of my family could not understand why I was so happy and full of love and joy at my fathers passing and later his funeral. It was because I was still filled with this feeling that I had felt and how could I be sad for my dad being there.
But that feeling disappeared and my humaness kicked in again to overpower my spiritual self.
This is why I say I want to go home.
I wrote in another post and I have it on my computer when I turn it on that says
“suicidal people are just angels that want to go home”
Now please don’t get me wrong. Just because it is so fucking wonderful, doesn’t mean it is right for you to go before your time. That can have consequences. That’s what I’m going to find out tomorrow from some highly advanced spiritual people. If its ever ok for us to go home before our time. I don’t know your situation, but if you have children then DO NOT LEAVE THEM, under any circumstances. You are responsible for their lives. With friends and family, its debateable.
Depends how much they need you in their life or how badly it would affect them.
I don’t believe any one should leave for a purely selfish reason or to get back at someone for hurting them. All things and all people should be considered first otherwise it is no way spiritually correct. So if you would like til wait until I find out those answers tomorrow and in the meantime tell me why you want to end your life, then I can help you better.
If I can hang in there another day until I find answers then so can you
When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, indeed be raised again?
Al Quran Sura 37 verse l6
Man thinks that We shall not assemble his bones Yes Truly! Yes, We are able to restore his very finger prints!
Sura 75 verses 3 & 4
And Allah it is Who sends the winds and they raise a cloud; Then We lead it to a dead land and revive the earth after its death. Such is the Resurrection.
Sura 35 verse 9.
The day when We shall roll up the heavens as a recorder rolls up a written scroll. As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it.
Sura 21 verse 104
On the day when the their tongues and their hands ond their feet testify against them as to what they used to do.
Sura 24: Verse 24
A day when no soul has power at all over any other soul. The absolute command on that day is Allah ‘s
Sura 82 verse 19.
Look around you, don’t you see atheists, nonmuslims converting to Islam? Just read the Quran and see for yourself.
All I know; nobody in life can tell you with any degree of accuracy what the afterlife will be like, or if it exists or not. As we are all bound to the life, and that’s all there is for us here. Once you leave this place, you may know, but you can never come back to tell anyone what you’ve discovered. Life and the potential afterlife are forever to remain separate. All we can do is to speculate what might happen to anything that was once you as a consciousness after you are no longer detectable within your body. For all we know Christians could be right, for all we know Atheists could be right. But neither of them KNOW at all.
By the by AngelActually, I see people conversting from one religion/nonreligion to the next all over the place. That doesn’t make any of it correct. Its all just speculation.
The Quran on numerous occasions challenges humanity at large to think, reflect and ponder over their affairs. Here is some of what the Quran states:
Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, laws, etc.) in detail for the people who reflect. (Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #24)
Do they not think deeply (in their ownselves) about themselves (how Allah created them from nothing, and similarly He will resurrect them)? Allah has created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, except with truth and for an appointed term. And indeed many of mankind deny the Meeting with their Lord. (Ar-Room, Chapter #30, Verse #8)
He it is Who has appointed for you the night that you may rest therein, and the day to make things visible (to you). Verily, in this are Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) for a people who listen (i.e. those who think deeply). (Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #67)
Does man think that he will be left Suda (neglected without being punished or rewarded for the obligatory duties enjoined by his Lord (Allah) on him)? (Al-Qiyama, Chapter #75, Verse #36)
Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?” (Al-Mumenoon, Chapter #23, Verse #115)
To the rejecters of truth the Quran states: Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are only like cattle; nay, they are even farther astray from the Path. (i.e. even worst than cattle). (Al-Furqan, Chapter #25, Verse #44)
Do they not reflect? There is no madness in their companion (Muhammad). He is but a plain warner. (Al-Araf, Chapter #7, Verse #184)
Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect . (Al-Hashr, Chapter #59, Verse #21)
When studying the many cases of new Muslim converts, we see that engaging in critical thinking and intellectual reasoning have led people to change their non-Islamic faiths – the same faiths that earlier supposedly could have moved mountains, get diluted by the voices of reason easily heard in the roots of Islam. A mere process of thinking and reflection brings so much to the limelight that otherwise remains veiled by distractions and forces of the anti-Islam pundits. Those who are bent to see only the negative, fail to see the light of truth and instead engage in a never ending superficial analysis to unsuccessfully prove their misguided philosophies.
There are many statistics in the media that highlight the phenomenal rate at which people are converting to Islam. Although, the authenticity of all these sources has not been validated for the purpose of this post, some of them include the following:
According to “The Almanac Book of Facts”, the population increased 137% within the past decade, Christianity increased 46%, while Islam increased 235%.
100,000 people per year in America alone, are converting to Islam. For every 1 male convert to Islam, 4 females convert to Islam
TV Report: 4000 Germans Convert To ISLAM Each Year
About 25000 people convert to Islam every year in the UK alone
…many more examples exist.
To non-Muslims who have only scratched the surface about learning Islam and who may be getting distracted by those who are the wrong torch bearers of this religion and also distracted by the biased voices in the media, the message is simple – try to view the teachings of Islam with a critical lens and you may be able to see more reason than you may not have thought was present. To Muslims, the message is that sometimes we do not appreciate the teachings of our own religion simply because we never think and grow beyond the few religious practices in operating our lives. A focused effort to learn, think and reflect more will help us get closer to the religious teachings in ways that can drastically improve our lives.
When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, (1) And you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes, (2) Then exalt [Him] with praise of your Lord and ask forgiveness of Him. Indeed, He is ever Accepting of repentance. (3)
Ok here’s your answer.
You are not aloud to as I was told “quit & cop out of life”
You are here for a reason and it may not be obvious yet
and your suffering has a purpose to.
If you go to the after life they will just send you back again to complete your life.
If it was your time to leave it would just happen without you having to do it.
I once heard a story about a guy that tried to commit suicide about 10 times and failed each time
and in the end he finally accepted that he just wasn’t meant to go.
whether you believe in god or not, there is something. it can be better (heaven), or it can be worse (hell, or even nothing)
nothing is also something.

Your corpse rots.
I imagine the afterlife will be a lot like the prelife. I.e. non-existant.
