Not really impressive, but it tastes pretty darn good. It’s one of those cakes with the pudding mixed in. Too bad I don’t have any frosting. Next time I am going all out with the cake baking. Homemade frosting and everything. Chocolate raspberry. Stay tuned. Haha.
Don’t be, as of right now that cake is a figment of my imagination. The plain chocolate cake is very much real and still cooling in the kitchen. If/when I make the first cake, I will share pics. Hmm, maybe a fresh berry garnish? Shit, I better stop before I end up at the grocery store at 2 am.
If I was going to do a multi-layered cake, I would drizzle some melted Nutella over one of the layers, then top that with some mini chocolate chips, then top that with a layer of fudge frosting.
Then repeat that on the top layer.
I think I gained three pounds just by typing that.
That sounds so good. I don’t even like cake that much but that I would like. I used to have some authentic round cake pans, the kind from the cake making section of Michaels. Didn’t do much with them but I could try again, I love those fancy cake competitions on the food network, pretty sure that’s what got me started back in the day. I really don’t need another hobby, lol.
My favorite chocolate flavor combination is chocolate orange.
I bet there are ways to incorporate that flavor into a cake.
Probably tons of recipes, if I cared enough to search for it. 😉
Searching for recipes (at least in my case) is sort of like window shopping.
I think “Oh, that looks delicious… but I’m never going to bother with making it.”

With extra mini-chocolate-chips and possibly some maraschino cherries scattered across the top for prettiness.

The mini chocolate chips remind me of canolis. I used to love them but only from a certain store. Nobody else can make a canoli like them.

Occasionally, I am definitely a much better cook and enjoy it more so. Baking is not my strongest suit. It’s a miracle this cake turned out, really.
Maybe you’re getting better at this. You should try it more often.
Maybe. Thanks for the encouragement. I honesty think I just got lucky. My oven temp is off so it always takes longer to bake something.
Sure. I ll overnight it.
My recipe for cake:
1. Go to store
2. Find bakery
3. Select cake
4. Purchase cake
5. Try to make it home before eating cake
6. Eat remaining bits of cake
The best recipe i know too. It’s fast and easy.
And no dishes to wash.
That’s usually my recipe too. Tonight was a rarity.
