Here’s my latest project, finished last Sunday.
It’s supposed to reflect the upheaval and turbulence of needing answers to certain things, but not having those answers– and coming to terms with the possibility of never having them.

Cordless, SON OF A GUN! It made me feel like you described it! i had to sit down and take a drink! 🙂
If you listen to it twice, you get to have TWO drinks.
Just saying.
Cordless, you got a deal HICK-UP! 🙂
I liked this. Very well done. Glad you posted it.
Thank you! 🙂
Very pleasant. This, is a metal song. You might not hear it, but I do.
Thank you! 🙂
Now I’m trying to hear it as metal….
😮
I can totally hear the metal song aspect. Good ear!
Fantastic composition. Now alan has to write heavy metal lyrics.
I had a dream you and I lived in NYC and I went over your townhouse to visit you and talk you into going out to dinner. But you insisted on not going to dinner because you made this giant pot of steaming rice noodles with this thick delicious soy sauce type broth and these long strips of savory meat. We ate with chopsticks and your aunt (NO idea) kept berating you about cleaning the house until I pointed out you had leg braces and she was stupid.
Yup, better living through batshit crazy. Fun times.
“Better Living Through Batshit Crazy”….
If SP had a monthly magazine, that would be the perfect title.
Or if it had another title, that would at least have to be one of the regular article categories.
I listened to this several times over and really enjoyed it. I’m with the others on the metal vibes.
So many artistic people on this site. I guess I’m more of an art admirer/critic than a creator. (I did always dream about writing film/TV screenplays though. Too bad I always become romantically involved with potential co-writers and then it doesn’t work out so we don’t get around to writing any scripts.)
Thank you for listening and liking it. 🙂
I feel the same way when I see all the amazing artwork others post. I’d love to be able to sketch and paint as skillfully as some of the great talents here. But all I can do is watch and admire.
This is lovely, and haunting in a way..
You make such great music…
I can only dream of having this kind of musical talent…
I’m glad you post your pieces. I always enjoy them.
Aww! Thank you for listening.
It’s a fun way for me to capture my angst.
🙂
Love the time signature!! 7/8 and 5/4 are awesome to work with :0)
Yeah, lately I’ve been in a mood where I’m writing more 7/8 stuff than usual.
I’m thinking of doing 10/8 next, maybe.
7/8 does a good job of catching the “unstable” feeling.
Hard to tap a foot to. 😉
Absolutely, that’s what I love about it, the irregularity it’s unpredictable. Makes composition more interesting.
10/8 is very unusual!! I’ve only ever seen it once in ALW Memory from Cats, I’ve never understood it lol it seems to me like a bar of 6/8 and 2/4 or just a 5/4 lol… to listen to anyway but its all in the beaming I guess. good thing about composing though is there are no rules really you can create anything :0)
