I’ve been carrying this illness for years and didn’t utter a word to anyone, not my family, friends, the counselor I had been seeing for 5 years. I recently reached out and tried getting help. I started by telling my older sister, who then told my mum and soon I was seeing a doctor who was meant to direct me to mental health specialists. This was over 2 months ago. The doctors have done nothing. After the years of doing nothing the one time I try get help I get thrown aside. There are many other signs but this is the final one. I give up. Things will never get better and I’m just tired.

I feel for you, I know what it’s like to finally reach out for help and when you do get ignored. For me it just reinforced my beliefs that I couldn’t be helped. I had an undiagnosed GI disease for years, I would go to doctors over and over and every time they wouldn’t help and would tell me i’m healthy which I definitely wasn’t. It just meant that they didn’t know what the cause was. I think it’s about asking the right people for help. If you ask enough places and people eventually somebody or something will help you. I think your post here is a good step towards that, if you don’t mind me asking, what is it you need help with?
I need help with mental illness. Although I haven’t been diagnosed properly, I have been to see health advisors and although they can’t professionally diagnose me it’s pretty obvious that I have depression and anxiety. They also mentioned it might even be bipolar as I do go through periods, usually lasting anywhere from 3 weeks to 3/4 months where I am extremely energetic and hyper and it’s like I’m on overdrive.
Suicide is never the answer , Jesus is the answer ???For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need. (NASB) Hebrews 4:15-16
For those who are struggling, remember that Jesus wants you to cast your care on Him.
. . casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. (NASB) 1 Peter 5:7
Some things I have found that help with my depression healthy diet, regular exercise, multivitamin Vitamin B12 and Omega 3 Fish Oil. Not sure why doctors have done nothing for you since you are experiencing that. Honestly I have been through almost every med for depression and none of them helped much, all of them had tons of side effect and withdrawal when I quit them. They may work for you but they didn’t for me, they just caused me more problems.
