Staying healthy is important for the depressed:
Be sure to live through your body, by this I mean by being physical active such as going to the playground to play like a little kid, biking, or regular fitness work-outs.
Along with exercise, eat a healthy diet with lots of leafy green vegetables
Never isolate yourself, try to maintain healthy relationships with peers and stay away from negativity
Reduce stress doing things such as listening to relaxation music or coloring
Pick up hobbies such as art or sports
This one I think is most important is being one with the universe, creating that oneness, or peace with God:
This can be achieved with activities like yoga, mediation, or prayer.
Tonight, I ask, and it only take a couple of minutes per night, is to get on your knees by your bed with your hands together in prayer position and say this prayer aloud:
“Heavenly Father, grant me peace of mind and calm my troubled heart. My soul is like a turbulent sea. I can’t seem to find my balance so I stumble and worry constantly. Give me the strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose and walk the path you’ve laid out for me. I trust your Love God, and know that you will help me out of this darkness. Just as the sun rises each day against the dark of night. Please bring me clarity with the light of God.
In your name I pray. Amen.”
