this is a quote from french president mitterand on the suicide of a friend in the 90s. for that matter how about shakespeare who wrote that suicide is to “take arms against a sea of pain, and by opposing, end them”
but nowadays suicide is “the cowards way out” or “mental illness” or “an epidemic”. whatever, in the end the suicidal person doesnt give a shit what everyone else thinks and maybe thats why its so appealing. whatever shame or persecution leads you to this point doesnt matter at that moment you bleed your last drop. “greatness” or “cowardice” are meaningless when you just want to get the hell out of here. its just funny that nobody gets it. like death itself, there are religions and laws, myths, legends and profitable industries circling around the smell of death. they all promise this promise that, but nobody has a damn clue. grandeur or shame? the answer is it doesnt fucking matter. its like arguing over a pair of binoculars on the deck of the titanic as it goes down

To this day, nine years after my attempt, I have the same thoughts.
