What or who do you think is torturing us? And why? Is it a god that’s torturing us for some reason? Is it some evil powers like demons? Or is it just “nature”?
I see a picture of horses grazing in a field and, my god, it’s so beautiful, it’s so peaceful, none of them are bleeding, or in any pain, all of them are beautiful happy and content. That’s how life should be.
Instead we have chaos everywhere police syrens, blood, screams, filth, crying, humiliation, emptiness, suicide, hopeless, traumatized….
Everything is wrong. I want to know why.

I have no enlighting answer in anyway. It is as it is.
I see humans as still monkeys that are strongly influenced by certain instincts. Some agressive, power craving instincts had probably their natural and logical purpose thousands of years in the past out there in the jungle.
Humans still have such instincts, but with the diference that the circunstances in which they made sense and were truly productive for the species long long ago no longer exist.
Now, they can screw us in ways that nature did not predict when it made them. And we turn against ourselves…
Humans have free will which they abuse.. I think humans are made wrong. Perhaps we were someone’s experiment who saw it going wrong and just left it..
I don’t know but I wish I were not human. The humankind is egoistic and selfish beyond hope. All I could dream of is every man on earth just took up a knife or gun or whatever and killed himself. That would be fair play.
only few good people are living on earth right now.. there’s more evil than good in humanity.
Humans suffer from a unique condition: We are condemned to have the unnecessary evolutionary byproduct called self-awareness (self-consciousness).
I think that it is our competetive nature that is torturing us. I agree with what BurstingBilrost has to say about humans being like apes, particularly chimpanzees. Bonobos are closely related to humans, just like chimpanzees, but bonobos are more peaceful. Chimps fight to be the alpha male or female, where bonobos are perhaps too busy having sex to fight.
Aside from genetics, I believe that there is some sort of chemical state that we are in that makes us feel poorly. Happy people have higher levels of certain chemicals, whereas depressed people seem to have lower levels. Nonetheless, I find it sad that happiness is nothing more than chemicals. Can you believe that simply eating a fruit can make you happier? Life is just weird, and I sure hope there is not a god responsible for this torture.
I don’t know what it is…. some humans are good but for the most part humanity is evil…. as stated above I also wish I weren’t human….I would prefer any other organism on earth over a human…..well….maybe not ANY other organism (being an animal in a slaughterhouse most definitely sucks)…..but maybe a eagle or something that is capable of flight…. I just wish evil wasn’t possible….if free will includes the ability to be evil I’d prefer if humans didn’t have it…..what’s so special about “free will” anyway? if it allows you to hurt other people at your discretion? …. who knows man…..maybe we will find out in the distant future maybe we won’t….but I no longer care…. I have my ticket out this *****
Horses were once good. It’s only people that have corrupted them. People like Eddie Ahern and KF.
Deathdreamer I think humans are made wrong too. Bursting Bilrost you are so right about humans still being monkeys. I do think humanity is some kind of mistake.
For what it’s worth I think you SPer’s turned out well. Interesting how the best people are the most suicidal and it makes sense. It makes sense that the better a person is, the more rejection they will feel towards a terrible world. It makes sense that the more a person strives to better themselves (spiritually, intellectually), the more they will resent those who are not trying.
As for me, I’m a sad mistake and I know it. Nature is not supposed to be producing people like me. I think its all the bad chemicals and things in our world. My grandmother was a very heavy smoker. All these things add up and damage DNA and we end up with half-formed people like me.
Hey guys –
I think it’s super that we are asking this question. The more people ask this very question, the closer we will be to re-shaping the world.
I can see, in my heart of hearts, that the problem plaguing the world, is emotional blindness. All of the things the OP mentioned, reflect an individual’s relationship to the external. The root of this relationship? The internal.
The internal world of people is thus reflected in the external world.
Our internal world is broken.
We need to figure out why. People need to start asking WHY.
Don’t blame guns and don’t blame drugs. These things are simply the MESSENGERS of the internal collective wound.
We need to start at the very heart of the matter – the human heart. Start examining the childhood, in which everything is shaped.
Start examining the ways in which society’s denial, taboos, and stigmas contribute to a broken world.
We will be on the right path.
