I hate it because people want to celebrate a day for someone as trashy as me. They shouldn’t bother to do anything for me. I really don’t understand why they even celebrate it and insist I come over for dinner. I haven’t been over to theirs because I always forget or I’m always too broke to even buy them a gift. Oftentimes I am too busy at work to go to their celebrations. Honestly I always feel awkward when people start calling me and texting me to wish me a happy birthday. I’m glad that they remember but this is exactly the reason why it bothers me. I should know their birthdays. I need to memorize the dates.

I’m very guilty of remembering dates, and I don’t celebrate birthdays but I may go to them, what’s so great about being another year older? yeah I survived another year? congratulations? as an excuse to get together well that’s kind of cool, I don’t want gifts I buy my own crap! 🙂 For the very young it’s OK, like Xmas Santa Clause and all that, the reason kids like it because they can’t buy their own crap and think it’s a miracle till they get older. I think everyone should get together and cry! I heard the bad news! your a year older! sorry! here’s a bottle of booze! 🙂
I HATE my bday. But only because it’s more of a celebration of a fuck up. A stupid mistake. And before that….mmm let’s go back to before I was 10. I love holidays. I loved giving presents. But after my 11th birthday I lost interest. Now holidays are a bipolar time of year for me where I go back and forth between “YAY presents” And “fuck it I hate them the reason being is my grandfather use to always visit and then take me home. To the province I was born in. And then my mother kicked him out of my life and it just wasn’t the same since.
Lighten up guys. Lonewolf23 seems to hate himself for not remembering bdays. Well, this is easy to solve. Buy a calendar, put all the important bdays up there. Send them a card one day ahead. Problem solved.
Bdays arent celebrated for being a year older, as far as im concerned. It’s for still being there, with/for the people you love. And no… life isnt always great, but count your blessings. How great is it to have friends that love you. Not everyones so lucky. If you think you’re an ass for noticing them enough, get up from the couch and do something nice for/wityh them right now.
One thing is it is your birthday, so the point is you have ownership of it. Some religions don’t even celebrate birthdays, based on your beliefs, you will celebrate as you do. I can’t remember ever being too thrilled about any of my birthdays, but it does give you a reason to drink. Sadly, drinking is just not solving the problems like it did before.
