Is it not better to be one of the sheeple? One of the happy ppl who aren’t plagued by depression, by thoughts of things like meaning, purpose, existence, etc?
The avg person is content to only think about themselves, their family, and God for those religious. They are happily plodding along to the mainstream narrative of being 1 in 8 billion worker ants.
Wake up, work for our corporate overlords, go home, use what little “free time” to watch mindless shows or be on social media. rinse and repeat.
They don’t question, they don’t have existential crises, they just follow. They are happy being mediocre, avg, middle of the pack. “Normal.”
They are not plagued by the thoughts many of us have here on SP.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be one of the masses who don’t think deeply and don’t question?
Those who think deeply and question life, and our overlords, and question the narrative we are told to swallow and follow- we are miserable beings.

Ex- imagine we are all sheep heading to the slaughterhouse. Imagine 5% of the sheep KNOW humans are going to slaughter them. The rest are happily munching on grass (if sheep even get to eat real grass nowadays).
Is it not better to be the 95% of sheep who don’t know any better and just enjoy aimlessly eating and shitting?
The sheep that know they’re going to be slaughtered (with no chance at escape) are going to be miserable and anxious until the day they are slaughtered.
Are humans not the same as these sheep? We just don’t see our “fence.” But we are penned in regardless.

How much free will do you think you have? I would argue very little. We have the ILLUSION of freedom in the USA. But we don’t have actual freedom.
Anyhow, I’ve always envied the sheeple who just happily plod along life. They are not plagued by deep thoughts or have existential crises.
There are many famous scientists, philosophers, writers, etc who questioned life and thought very deeply, and most of them were depressed and suicidal af. People like Lincoln, Einstein, Newton, Van Gogh, Beethoven, Sigmund Freud, Franz Kafka, etc.
1- Is it better not to be a happy sheeple? Being content with a meaningless and mediocre life rather than a depressed fuck who thinks deeply about the world?
2- Would you rather be a tortured soul that accomplished great things, or be a very happy and content mediocre avg person who doesn’t achieve anything other than working for a soulless evil corporate overlord for 45 years and then retiring? ie- would you rather burn twice as bright but get snuffed out twice as fast?
3- Would you rather be highly intelligent or happy? Not to say intelligent ppl can’t be happy, but there’s a noticeable correlation of intelligence and depression.
