mark800101.. I believe that only the forum administrator can approve comments. The 21 you see pending are for comments awaiting moderation across the site in multiple posts. Once the forum administrator ‘blesses’ them, the comments will become visible in their respective posts.
Sometimes that number goes up and down slightly in between approvals.. If the spam filter has a problem processing, the comments go into queue for a few minutes until the spam filter attempts to re-process.

@mark: Uh, are they on your post? If so an email is sent or something? I usually go through my email and it links me to a post that I can approve. Else you can find it in the admin panel and look through the pending posts. You can only approve pending comments that are on YOUR posts.

… and I probably should have said the post initiator as opposed to forum admin could approve. When I ran a WordPress site for a friend’s business, only a few people could approve them. I guess it depends on the setup.

Distantroads – is the forum administrator an actual person? It’s kind of late/early to be approving/denying comments, isn’t it?
Most comment post automatically, Mark… Comments that wind up in queue are often because they 1) contain a link, 2) contain an e-mail addres, 3) the commenter recently updated their profile (e-mail, etc.), 4) the spam filter picked up something, or 5) something else I’m forgetting at 5:25am. 🙂
For the most part, comments are entered and posted… no human involvement.
Nor have I heard the Emily Browning version – thanks for the share. Sounds great.

@mark: There is a forum administrator – and is a real person. They can do whatever to whoever’s posts & comments. But usually the post author approves for a comment in their post( sorry I kept mixing up comment & post earlier ). Usually happens when it’s a new user or the user posts a link in their comment.

Exactly, Will… I do the same thing when there’s an 80s weekend on the radio… I’ll note a couple of songs that I haven’t heard in AGES that bring back memories… and YouTube usually has them…. which is, um, more legal than downloading them… lol
