I think this is one of the most important unanswered philosophical questions at this time. Are you right now and you in a minute from now identical, apart from whatever experiences you may have made in this minute? (A) Is there something which identifies you as a distinct human being which is preserved over time?

Who am I?

The only question I’ve never been able to answer.

Even as a small girl I never really knew who i was.

As if I’ve been living a lie for so long that I can no longer recognize the real me from what I’ve become.

When i think about the fact that I’ve never told anyone everything about me, I realize that I don’t even know everything about myself.

But how is that possible?

Why can’t I remember everything?

new monkeys are born to racing monkeys and they also started following parents

It’s hard to stare at a blank page, feeling so much inside but not being able to put any of it into words, or answer why it happens. I find it grossly unfair that if I had a terminal illness I would be discussing its ramifications with my daughter and preparing her for my demise. But because I intend to depart by my own hand, I have to stay silent and she’ll have to endure the shock andÂ the potential lifetimeÂ effects of not only my death, but having no preparation for it.Â All of the questions she’ll have later I would gladly answer now, but that’s against the rules.

When people ask me what I want to be in five years, the answer that pops to mind is ‘dead’. It’s terrible when you’re walking down the street, or simply talking to someone, and suddenly you can feel like you can’t hold back your tears anymore. You start crying and you don’t know why. Everybody stares and asks what’s wrong and you can’t answer their question. There’s nothing wrong, nothing bad is happening and you have everything anyone could ever ask for. I had been diagnosed with severe depression about 12 years ago. In that time & have been on at least that many meds with as many different side effects.

I lost a Vice Presidents position and a business to this retched thing.

I have taken myself off of all meds. I know this is not smart, please, no lectures. I am tired of having one pill after another thrown at me like I’m a dartboard..

I am afraid to go out in public because I brake down over the dumbest things. As everyone here knows, nobody really understands this unless you’ve been there.

Most of things on earth (god, rules, ethics, philosophy, technology) are developed by few confident, intelligent, strong humans

Have you ever been worried that you might know someone on this site? That they would recognize you… that they could be here and even talk to you but neither know each other? I realize I know so many people that are depressed and might frequent this site.

Extra credit: Do you have co-dependency? How do you manage it? Any advice or questions?

Probably I have made the worst mistake in my life. I trusted in somebody. I told him that I cut. Things just got worse. He told a girl, and this girl couldn’t keep it a secret neither. Now the rumor is spreading like cancer in school.
I’m scared. I don’t know what will happen if a teacher knows, if my parents know… I need help please. I need someone I can trust. I feel more alone than ever. Now I feel more suicidal… maybe that’s the answer.
